Thought I should finally get around to saying hello on here! I'm Sarah, owner of one grumpy cat but no dogs (yet!) ;D I've only been a memeber for a few weeks but am already getting stuck into the fundraising by running the 5K fun run at the end of the month for the Sensory Garden fund Any advice on dogs would be muchly appricated as me and the old man are novices! xx

Hi Sarah!
I am contemplating doing the fun run.. no excuses really, I thought I might have something booked for that weekend but it turns out I don't!
I don't know about advice on dogs... for me a lot of it is gut feeling. I suppose there are some obvious things like how much space you have at home (ie big dog? little dog?) and how much exercise you can give it (I usually only manage one walk a day so that probably wouldn't be enough for most collie-type dogs!).
I can't seem to help being drawn in by staffie-types myself. So loyal and funny and loving, and so so many of them needing good homes!
Hope to see you around!
Jo

*waves madly* Lovely to meet you today Dollygirl Well, you certainly got your doggy fix at IKEA eh My advice would be keep an open mind and heart, and talk to lots of people. Be patient, don't rush. Don't get a dog you 'feel sorry for', see the dog that you'll be sharing your life with for the next how-ever-many-years, don't see the dog who looks sad in kennels. Ooooooh missus - you's on a journey!
