Bow has had a name change - she is now called Lauren ;D If you'd like more info, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. UPDATE: 19 MARCH Lauren was rehomed but has gone back to the Home. She and the resident dog Max didn't get on within the house although out walking, they were fine together, no problems. Her owners tried their best with her and Max but it wasn't to be. They made the decision because it is best for her, Max and all the family even though it broke their hearts to do so. They say: 'It's such a sad situation as she really is a perfect dog - happy, friendly, good with other dogs out walking, clean in the house, quiet at night and absolutely loves children. if she can find a home where she is an only dog, or with a dog where they accept each other, i'm sure she'll make the most wonderful pet ever. We're going to miss her like crazy. good luck bow xxxxxxxxxx'

Do we know much about her She's not on P2 any more Thank you for giving Bow a *bump* ;D If any walkers would like to do a nice thing for Bow this week, it would be lovely if someone could take some new pics and let us know more about this beautiful girlie

Bow took me for a walk today I was determined to walk her as I had the day off work and was without Bridie, my daughter (and expert dog walker ) Shes a strong dog and spent the first 5 minutes or so jumping up and barking at me! Obviously very excited to be out and about. She soon settled down and was sniffing around and enjoying herself. She seemed very wary of other people and dogs and was keen to get past them as fast as she could. We bumped into 'Becky' who was out with Malibu and Bow was no problem with the lively lad at all but keen to get on with her walk Bow wasnt interested in any treats, wouldnt sit and barked at me when I tried to sit down. She obviously needs a good run around as she has soooo much energy....unlike me, at the end of the walk Bow would need someone who could give her plenty of time, a firm approach and plenty of lead training, she connects with her walker, looking for reassurance throughout the walk but not quite knowing how to respond to it. She deserves the love and attention from someone able to take on such a strong dog, she was found abandoned in a car park and shows her vulnerability when approached by cyclists, joggers as well as around loud noises such as trains going by and machinery being used on the local industrial estate

Wow! Bow had another outing this afternoon with Alex and Ollie, and from what they told me, they would agree with everything you said about Bow! Here she is, coming back from one of her walks... Alex said the same thing about her being strong, and barking at him (especially when he sat down). He also said she seemed to keep looking at his hand, and was also very interested in sticks. I wonder if she used to have sticks thrown for her in her 'last life'? Maybe she's trying to tell her walkers 'PICK UP THE STICK! THROW IT FOR ME!It's really, really useful to have perspectives and thoughts from a variety of walkers. With strays, no-one (apart from the dog) knows what their lives were like (although, sadly, sometimes it is all too apparent) Thoughtful assessments are a key part of helping our dogs find the right home, and without our walkers this just wouldn't be possible. Lucky girl Bow, out on lovely big walks today

We took the lovely Bow out for a walk this afternoon at the SWALK.......................at least I think it was us that took Bow out She was really pleased to be out and about and was keen to investigate all the sites and sounds. She pulls quite a bit when you start off, but soon settled in to walking nicely ..............until you stop for two seconds and then its time to pull you to get you going again. She loved being told she was a good girl, tail wagging and paws up for hugs. ;D ;D

Gorgeous photo of her Kara`s Mum! She really is a good looking girlie. I took her out this afternoon and would say pretty much the same as pinkandfluffy. She jumped up and down and barked as we left the Home but soon settled down. She did take treats from me but almost wasn`t that bothered. She was VERY gentle though when she did take them! SO sweet! She was keen on her walk but relaxed a bit on a few occasions and didn`t constantly pull on the lead. She did look back at me a few times. I got the impression she wasn`t quite sure what she should be about. She just walked and walked and walked and when I stopped to give her cuddles she wanted to carry on with the walk! Maybe she needs someone who could build her confidence and allow her to play and show her how to be a dog. I don`t know much about ABDs but she was a delight to walk and I hope she finds her forever home soon. A xx
