Hi Do you know if Tyson is ok with cats? Thanks Hi I know there is never any way to know just how he will be with your cat until in a home environment and he has settled in (and the cat has got used to him too)...but the difference between Tyson and say one of the smaller, faster dogs is that at the very least, a cat could get out of his way with more success, I would imagine? This boy is not built for speed in the same way as a Staffy for example (I KNOW my Freddie would be a real danger to a cat). I have never noticed him to be on the same 'high alert' with birds etc as I have with others I have walked. If you are interested in Tyson read back and see the lovely observations and wonderful photos (especially 'thinkpidgeons' as they show his daft, lovely face so well!!). It is no secret how much I love this dog, so could I ask a big favour???.....if you re-home him, we would love to see some photos? Thanks and good luck Lisa x

Hiya,
Rung on Monday about Tyson. My partner and I would love a rotty. He is an ex rotty owner, his parents own a farm with boarding kennels and have a rotty. Weve just bought a new house, with an enclosed garden and a I mean massive garden! House was picked that was suitable for having a dog. We were told Tyson had leg/hip probs and wouldnt be released until results are known. Please could I have some feedback, as we could be perfect owners and have the experience and home environment for a dog like Tyson. Louise L

Hi Louise, I've contacted the Home's manager for clarification for you - and I'm sure she'll reply as soon as she's able, so keep watching this space

Fingers crossed for Tyson. I hope his x rays give positive results. I love this boy so really really hope he is ok, especially as he is so close to finally getting a forever home.

Tyson is booked in for x-rays tomorrow to clarify if/what the problem is. When the Home know the results, they will be happy to look at re-homing him appropriately. They are asking any people that are interested in Tyson to contact them towards the end of next week

We've just had some truly shocking and upsetting news - when examining Tyson today, the vets discovered that he was gravely ill and that there was nothing that they could do to help him. On their advice he was let go there and then. This is all we know at the moment.
Tyson, you great big softie, we all loved you to bits, Take all our love and thoughts with you and run free. I just so wish things could have been different - we'll always remember you with love and a smile.

Oh Tyson, I'm so sorry you had to leave us before finding your forever home. But I am sure you knew you were well loved by many, in particular Lisa and her family, and that counts for a lot.
Run free, handsome, we'll all miss you. xx

That's lovely Jo. Yeah we loved him loads!!
I so wanted him to be in the 'forever home' section and not 'rainbow bridge'. I am unbelievably gutted. I haven't told the kids yet as there will be tears and I think I should wait till I am a little more together about it myself, till I break it to them.
Thankfully I was given a heads up on the weekend at the home, so have been expecting this, being the pessimist that I am.
I regret that his short life couldn't have been spent with us, going to the park and cuddling on our sofa. From the first time I met Tyson, it felt right for him to be ours. I would have taken comfort knowing that he had those nice times, when the inevitable premature end came. I hope the council re-think the rules and do not make rules for a breed based on one dog's behavior in the past.
I will continue to promote this wonderful breed and try to fight in my little way, against the stigma the dogs and the owners sometimes face.
Tyson was such a loving, sweet boy who was lovely with my kids and just like a big daft teddy bear. We will all miss him lots. So, so very sad to lose such a special boy. Sleep tight sweetheart xx

I am so sorry to hear that Tyson has left us. I didn't even know that he was sick. He was up and about only a few days ago so this was a shock, but that's sometimes how it goes.
Lisa, he will remember you and the special times you and your family spent with him and replay it time and time again in doggy heaven with love x
