How fab! The photo is just stunning! I would like to say what a relief it is to know that she has gone to a good, responsible and clearly loving home. I shared the concern that she would go to someone who just wanted a cute puppy...and that she may return in a few months big like Sparkey, untrained and unwanted but I feel really happy that you have her. I have read your posts and followed your journey in finding the right dog so have to say a big Sparkey may have missed out on a good start to life, but Shy-Bella is in good hands, I am sure and I really look forward to watching her grow. Thank you for sharing it with us. It's the happy stories that keep us all going.

Its day 15 and it is time for a quick video progress update - hubby is indeed not a tech guy when it comes to using video in my phone .... but lets leave it at that - here is a short video and small progress update xSign language for my deafie progress update After 15 days Shy:can:- sit - lie down - give paw - "play dead" - go to bed -drop (if she got something that we don't want her to have knows:- good girl - no (mostly ignores it lol) - off (if she tries to jump on a coffee table or when she wants food that isn't hers ) -she doesn't like this command - food (most important command we are working on:-stay - still working on it - it is not easy but it will take some time - roll over - sit patiently when someone comes to the house (in the future when she grows bigger it will prevent few accidents for instance if she jump on a child) - and house training - sometimes it works sometimes (like today) it doesn't - but she is still young x -using sign language from a distance - not standing next to her ,again we have loads of time here x we are praying for:-for her adult teeth to grow - she does bite less but she still bites xx We don't need Shy to be show dog that responds immediately to every command - but we would love to see her grow into a good dog (not the best one as then she wouldn't be herself xx )Here is a very quick video - sadly it was cut off before I managed to do a "drop" command x

That video is fab, you're doing an amazing job training Shy! ;D I love the 'bed' command, so cute I've been inspired by your clear commands with no words, and have been trying out some with Megs. She now sits or lies at a distance from me in the park just when I raise my hand, without saying anything. It's a small thing, but it made me happy that she could learn without my voice too ;D

Hi, with regards the not going mental when guests come over could be worth trying what we've been doing with our pair which is getting there. We keep a treat bag on the door handle of the hall so when someone comes to the door although they run over to greet they are learning that they have to sit first (and get a treat) before it does, then when guests come in if they start jumping up guest stays still and ignores til they stop and then gives sit signal and once they've sat they get another treat. Its still a work in progress as they are still pretty competitive at who gets to greet first etc but they are both starting to understand that sitting by the front door rather than jumping up gets a treat. Hope that makes some sense and might be of some use, oh and make sure the treat bag is on the non accessible side of the door (that was a quick learning curve!)

Absolutely brilliant video (I was really touched when she responded to the 'bed' sign). The signs are working so well, thanks to all your work.....I wonder if I could get my husband to do the dishes with a sign? She is growing fast too isn't she?....and just so beautiful! x

Hi Lisa - thanks so much for this xx I think that big credit need to go directly to Shy as she is such a fast learner (when she wants to be ) but i must say ,that if she doesn't want to "listen" she will turn her back on me lol i was looking yesterday at the video from day 3 -and i can see that shes grown pretty fast - she is now 10.8 kg (thanks Emma from CDH) she had her last puppy vaccinations yesterday xx
