On Thursday 2nd Feb CARIAD is holding another peacefull protest outside Carmarthen County Council Offices 09.45 am. This protest is against another Puppy Farm Application No W/25841. I will be unable to attend this protest. If anyone is in that area at the time please join in , say you are from ''FoCDH'' and you will be made very welcome.
SO WHAT MAKES THIS APPLICATION A DISGRACE? The property has been licensed since 2006 but has only just applied for retrospective planning permission. Licensing and Planning don't seem to talk to each other in Carmarthen.
There are no direct sales to the public, trade conducted as wholesale and transportation once every two weeks. So we know what that means.
The applicant is the only full time employee plus two part time workers. This is for 107 breeding bitches and 17 stud dogs plus litters. The farm also run 750 sheep
I have had a report of the conditions as a CARIAD representive went to CCC to see the application and photographic evidence. It was not at all satisfactory. These dogs live in terrible conditions. If you are interested you can read the application on Carmarthen County Council web site.
These puppy farms must be stopped from breeding so many puppies in such bad conditions and think when a pup goes from there it's mother and father remain in those conditions.
If you are touched by this please go to ''Draft Dog Breeding Proposals'' and write to WAG and your AM

it has been rescheduled for 14th feb (not much love for dogs that day) when they will visit the doggy hell then decide that planning is ok and after a chortle and lots of backslapping and secret handshakes with relatives each other will grant retrospective planning permission. carmarthenshire village council strikes again

Oh they did the same thing with the Beili Bedw application, I think they do that on purpose to mess the protestors about. Thanks for going.

I'm seeing a pattern here They will adjourn to the chambers and approve it straight after the site visit. Hoping that no-one will be there to express their disapproval. Well done for going Carol, it's really important to us that Friends members are actually involved in supporting CARIAD and taking a stand against puppy farmers. Susie x

thanks susie! just trying to get more people to support this. i had the choice to go or not, to stand in the cold or stay home in the warm. those battery dogs have no choice, bless them. the planning went through on beili bedw because 'the building was to plan' planning doesnt have anything to do with the dogs just the the actual building. as will be the case again. meanwhile the poor little (107 bitches, 17 dogs and umpteen puppies) struggle on with little or no human interaction and terrible conditions. last i heard there was 0NE full time worker and TWO part timers to look after all these animals (sorry including 750 sheep) please can everyone write to your AM and make your feelings known.

I am new to this information, but what sort of letter would we write to our AM? I don't know of any puppy farms in Monmouthshire - but I'm sure they are hidden somewhere

I too will certainly write some letters, is there a template we use or more importantly anything that cannot be said as I know it is important to try and get these authorities on board and not alienate them, I will also speak to a very good friend of mine who does go on a lot of rallies etc regarding animal welfare to ask if she has any generic templates. These farms really do need to be stopped, another friend has two bassets who were rescued from a puppy farm so I think she too would write letters.

I don't know of any puppy farms in Monmouthshire - but I'm sure they are hidden somewhere Hi Donna Quite possibly there arn't any puppy farms in Monmouthshire like there isn't in the Cardiff area, the main areas are Carmarthen and Ceredigion and Pembrokshire. Your AM will have an input to the new Dog Breeding Proposal now at 2nd consultation stage so it is important for as many of us as possible to write to our AM stressing our concerns about puppy farms and giving our personal responses to the draft Dog breeding proposals. The Draft is quite long so to make it easier I suggest the following:- At the CARIAD meeting on Saturday it was decided that CARIAD would produce a guidance format for people to use when writing, so hang on a little while, we have until 27th March. I will post that guidance here. I would ask everyone to read this thread in conjunction with the DRAFT Proposal thread, I will be putting info there as well. I hope I haven't confused the issue Thanks Bern

Just had an e mail from CARIAD re the Penparc puppy farm retrospective planning application. council site visit planned for 14th Feb, so the idea is to send Valentines cards to the planning dept. I have copied and pasted the email, it explains all.----
Hi everyone, Please could you send a Valentine's card to arrive by Monday so it's seen before the site visit on Tuesday morning 10.00am (i.e. Valentine's Day) where we will be protesting. They will be making a decision on the planning application at 1.30pm that day: Mr E Bowen Planning Department Carmarthenshire County Council County Hall Carmarthen Carmarthenshire SA31 1JP Here are some ideas for messages in case you get stuck: Make it a Happy Valentine’s Day for 128 puppy farm dogs in Penparc on 14th Feb. Vote 'NO'. Share the love. Vote ‘NO’ on 14th Feb to the Penparc puppy farm. Don’t reward Mrs Roberts on Valentine’s Day for deceiving you for 5 years. Will it be love at first ‘site’ visit on 14th February at Penparc? Love is never having to say you're sorry for breaking the law. Vote 'NO' to Penparc on 14th Feb.
So it would be great if we at ''Friends'' could support by sending a card. Thanks
