Brindle has just come in together with JR, he will be available from 04/08 They were reunited for photos and it was a very joyous reunion! ;D Brindle was quite a bouncy boy but this could well be the excitement at seeing his small counterpart after being in seperate kennels - we'll see how he goes as he settles in. If you'd like more info, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road. Open daily 10.30 - 4pm

Very, very sad news, Brindle is now at Rainbow Bridge, life hasn't been fair to you Brindle, run free and happy - taking all our thoughts with you. Like all Council run pounds, the Home is inspected very regularly by especially trained Police officers who assess each dog as to whether they are 'type' under the Dangerous Dogs Act. The Act prohibits 4 types of dogs and it is illegal to own them without specific exemption from a court. The dogs are judged on their physical characteristics and whether they match the description of a prohibited 'type' if so the dog is PTS. It is very sad news but Brindle on inspection was 'typed' and has been put to sleep. This is the law of the land, and no matter how devastated people that knew Brindle were, there are no options, the law must be followed. This is happening in pounds all across the country and sadly, is not the first time it has happened at the Home. A great many people are campaigning to have this law changed, arguing that it is the owners that produce dangerous dogs, not the actual breed itself. One of the best known and most influential is: DEED NOT BREEDIf you feel strongly, please support them,

I never got to meet him, but this is so sad! It's sickening to know this is happening. He looked such a happy, lovely lad.

This law is so pathetic, it must be changed! Please support www.deednotbreed.org.uk/If we all keep up the pressure, it will be changed eventually and lovely dogs like Brindle will not suffer this fate any more. Absolutely gutted.
