If you're visiting the Home this week, you'll see this lovely girl squidging herself up to the front of her kennel, simply dying to say 'hello'. Zeena loves a fuss! She's only a youngster, probably not more than about a year old, and is a wriggly, kissy, 'rub-my-tummy' munchkin. She is very excitable, but knows that teeth hurt, and was as gentle as she could be taking treats. Zeena is due for rehoming from 5th October but we really hope she won't be waiting very long. She can be a little vocal in her kennel, and from the 'debris' in her kennel, it looked like she may be bolting her food down, so a Kong Wobbler or 'anti gulp' bowl might be nice pressie for her if you're thinking of adopting this lovely girl! Who could resist this face? If you'd like more info, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7days a week, 10.30 - 4pm

Sadly Zeena has been returned so was out at the Asda Midweek Walkathon today. She really is beautiful! I love her colouring.
She's still very puppy like but takes treats so gently! She seems to be a bit nervous meeting some people at first but once she knows you're a friend she's so loving! I almost got knocked over when she tried to give me kisses and Baglady got a full facial wash as well - was that the sugar you hadn't wiped up after eating doughnut?! ;D
Somebody give this lovely girlie a chance?

Zeena and I went went for a lovely walk to day, stopping for a coffee at Starbucks en route. Whilst there Zeena behaved beautifully for treats and entertained the crowds with rolling on her back, cuddles and face licking antics. Low fat latte and a skinny muffin for me please. We met a couple of unleashed dogs on the way home and she very politely sniffed and wagged and went on her way. She's al ovely girl with buckets of energy and love to share.

Took Zeena out on the weekend, she is absolutely adorable! She was very excited to be out but settled to a nice walk as soon as we left the car park. She happily trotted along next to me sniffing everything we passed. She was friendly around other dogs who were off the lead, when they approached her she wagged her tail and said hello nicely. She is such a lovable pup, who gives great staffie kisses and loves a cuddle. We stopped for a fuss at the top of the hill and where she covered me in kisses and mud (shoulda done the fussing before we got muddy ;D). She is very obedient sits on command every time and takes treats very gently. She is a bundle of joy, who will make someone active a lovely companion.

My family and I had a lovely walk with Zeena this morning. She is so loving and gentle in nature. OK she pulled a little to start off but that was just excitement to be out and about and it wasn't long before we had a slack lead. She LOVED the tennis ball we gave her and would deliberately drop it so she could kick it around before pouncing on it again and trotting on!!! She has a very gentle mouth when taking treats and when we stopped for a drink she rested her head on my husbands knee and waited for fusses and treats (she did love her bit of choc chip cookie She was very good with all of us but seemed especially to like my children (13 years old). If they lagged behind she would stop and wait for them to catch up and loved to push against their legs for a fuss.

Although Zeena loved being out with her walkers, she was finding life in kennels extremely difficult and stressful. Some dogs cope extremely well in a kennel environment, and some don't And sometimes stress behaviours will spill out and become generalised, inappropriate and unmanageable. After Zeena was returned to CDH the staff observed outbursts of uncharacteristic and unpredicable behaviours in her. This culminated in an incident on Thursday, and after consultation with a vet, it was decided that Zeena should be set free of her demons Zeena was put to sleep on Friday Poor young girl, run free sweetheart

Aww I am absolutely gutted about this. She was an angel when we took her walking last weekend. When we left the home they told us some walkers had said she "lunged" at people but we saw non of that, she just walked happily. So sad that it had to end like this beautiful girl
