Is it ok to bring our dog Charlie again? He had a lovely time SWALK-ing with the staffies last time and promises to be on his best behaviour! x We've already cleared this with the staff. As long as there is one pair of hands per dog, and the usual rools are followed, they don't have a problem with this ;D See you there Charlie boy! S x

Hi everyone S'walking this weekend. Dog Walkers forms are going to be going live in the very near future to give the Home information on how the dog has behaved outside the Home environment. It's unlikely the forms will be ready and waiting for the SWALK today but if you could make a written note of the following on your dog this incredibly valuable information will be captured and we can then complete the forms as soon as they are ready. Does the dog know any basic commands - Sit, down, stay and paw. Do they settle after a short time? Do they take a treat gently? Are they calm when they SEE people while out? (Don't introduce dog to the general public) How do they respond to other dogs while out? (Don't introduce dogs on your own) Are they okay when they are touched?

Had a fab time on the SWALK today. Got to take out the fantastic Freddie and loved every minute of it. He's such a great dog! X

Hi all those who s'walked on Sunday (and those who couldn;t make it ;D ) The Home would like to hear some feedback from the walkers about how the new timings worked out at the weekend. Personally, I found that having only 1.30pm until 3.15pm (and by the time we got going it was more like 1.45) wasn't long enough for the swalk, we didn't have time to get to the lovely grassy park like we did last time which was a shame. I agree with the timings for the normal weekend walks as I think it's important that the dogs are available for people to see them on weekends, but I wonder if we could suggest that swalk's are an exception and can start from 12 or 12.30? as there is a large group it takes longer to get the dogs ready, and there are usually more photo stops which means walks take longer What do others think?

Totally agree with you Cheryl! It was rushed on Sunday and we were all having to keep an eye on the time. It would be great if an exception to the new walking times could be made for the Swalk's. Other than for the Swalks Im all for the new walking times. Anything that can help towards getting the dogs rehomed has got to be a benefit

Totally agree, we wanted to be out for longer too! It's only once a month so I reckon 12 or 12.30 would be better

I agree, it was a bit rushed.
If the Home want to keep that hour free during the day, maybe they would consider letting us bring the dogs back a little later instead, seeing as they are open till 4pm anyway?
