If anyone could/would stay at base camp for an hour or so from 3 o'clock (preferably with one of your own dogs) I should be back to Tesco's at about 4.30 to catch the 5 o'clock shoppers, or pack up the stall if it's quiet. So that's the plan ;D I have some flexi and can finish work early. Can hopefully be there with own pooch for about 4pm if that helps. x

We were at the store again from 4pm-6:30pm, when the poundies were having dinner and going to bed and folk were there with their own pooches. Kara was a very good girl. She was doing her "bestest chariddee face" with the soppiest eyes and floppiest ears and she was loving all the attention. She sat politely when required, gave paws to people, gave hugs and kissies where desired... to anyone ranging from 2-year old toddlers to a *coughs* extremely attractive *coughs* Scottish man in a Royal Navy outfit who gave us lots of money and also bought treats for all the doggies. Kara seemed to have it all worked out when to just smile politely with a hint of tail wag (little kids, ladies in cream outfits etc), and when it was okay to be a complete tart (Scottish man was completely shnaffled!!!) -- all I did was just stood there holding the collection box and she did all the hard work. ;D "Munneeefordawggiespwleease!!"Lovely to meet everyone too. I can't wait to see how much we made. ;D

Ah, well done everyone who took part today!!! It looks like a great time was had by all. I bet the doggies appreciated time out from the Home in the sunshine. Fingers crossed some of them may get a forever home from it ;D

Well, even though this is only going to happen (in theory) once every four years, guys, we have to do it again soon, because Leapsters and Dogsters, you were all 10 Dogs from CDH got some seriously serious walking, and some lovely licky lovin' from our Leapsters and the very generous customers at Tesco's today.... I'm going to give it a go... Duke, Pork Chop, George, LouLou, Meg, Bean, Casey, Major, Chico, and Daisy, oh - and Pickle Eleven dogs? Guys - is that right? And we had some Friends own fundraising paws out too, Abby & Bas & Bails and Dasher (some of our 'experienced' schmoozers) and we were joined by Bobby 'Dazzler' Dally, and Lady Kara 'schmoozer' Bowwow for the afternoon and early evening shift. It seemed fairly quiet money-wise throughout the day, but base camp started buzzing after the timely arrival of money magnet Kara, and when we counted up the pennies, there was, in the collection pots, a magnificent.... Blimey, where did that come from on a Wednesday Stirling work Leapsters Thank you soooooo much to everyone who donated their Leap Day to help the dogs. If you were there, come and take a bow and a well deserved pat on the back

Almost £200 quid... That's fantastic for the middle of the week!!! I have to say I was really humbled by some customers. We were approached by a few people who obviously didn't have an awful lot themselves but who still gave a pound for the dogs. I had a older lady who was quite frail and well into her 80s stuff a fiver into our tin and I just wanted to give her a big hug. *sniff* Quite heartwarming how nice some people were.

What a FANTASTIC day! I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was lovely weather to be out and about. The dogs got some sun and exercise. I got to know more pooches out of kennels and met some more volunteers too. The meet and greet part was great as it seemed quite a few people didn't know where the dogs home was based and were genuinely interested in the work that Friends was doing for the poundies. Bobby 'dazzler' (I like that Susie! ) was better behaved than I expected as he'd never done a meet and greet before and doesn't usually like hanging around and is rarely on a lead. Lots of treats and cuddles did the trick though! ;D Some photos before I waffle on... Daisy, Major and Chico with their walkers Kara playing ball! She was very good at attracting people's attention including a handsome RN man who seemed smitten! (Kara, which way did he go..?! ) Pork Chop and Pickles taking treats gently from Aunty Susie Bern with Abs and Bails Bobby being an advert for good doggies. ;D

What a fantastic day, I really enjoyed myself ;D ! It was great to get so many doggies out, to meet lots of new people, to get that amount of money raised (Kara I think you have a new job!) and we couldn't have asked for better weather! It was so nice to be out strolling in the sunshine, first with the lovely Duke who attracted quite a few admirers when we got to Tesco. Then I had the pleasure of little Bean, a great little JRT character who took a real 'shine' to LouLou (didn't he Kirsty ) . Lots of people stopped us along the walk to ask about the home, and some people were asking about how they could rehome the dogs we had with us. Fab ;D ;D Let's do it again soon!
