... to everyone who came along with their bringing and buying and joining and donating and walking and chatting and visiting and volunteering....
It was sooooooooo nice to see soooooooo many peeps at the Home
oooooh, 'Where did you get your lovely coat?'
Our 'Dogwalk Celebrity' holding a captive audience on 'the life and times of a supermodel'
There was concern that the day might have ended 'ugly', but thanks to some skillful negotiation, 'duvet detente' was achieved, and Crafty peeps got some and I've brought some back some for Woodlands too - most excellent and very much appreciated! Thank you Conny
There was, however, a bit of 'dodgy dealing' and brinkmanship over some very kindly donated crafty bitz and some Car Booty Looty....
Kate: 'Look, I'll give you this for the blue thing...'
Emma: 'You're having a larf aren't you?'
Emma: 'She's having a larf innit...'
Kate rallies: 'OK, but I've also got wool.....'
The air was tense
Emma: 'Right, show me what you've got then...'
Kate: 'Nooooo - not the white.....'
Emma: 'Yey! The good stuff - I got the good stuff'
Kate: ' Hey Rach, d'you know that woman? I think I've just been done'!
Rach: *smiles* 'Never seen her before in my life'!
And so, the 'Friends of Cardiff Dogs Home Crafty Corner' remains on South Wales' 'Most Wanted' list ......
Most wanted by us that is, they are all luffly really and I have a feeling that Kate is a new recruit, so no hard feelings eh
We had an amazing amount of quality donations, all fabulous stuff, for the Home (food, towels & blankies, some grrrreat toys, Kong fillers (YEY WOOF!)
.... for Woodlands, (duvets, jam jars, & yummy chocolate eggs), for Rachels Car Booty Looty (I have no idea, she was smiling like a Cheshire Cat as she loaded up her car); the crafty peeps were in their element (and I believe got a new recruit into the bargain); Lynne Gutsymum got 5 bags of clothing - including some far-too-good-to-go-brand-new-with-labels - which she is going to 'process' (thanks Lynne); I got a new 'Vounteer Assistant' for the rehomings books and Last Sunday events;
Katie & Lynne
we sold clothing (dobl & pobl), memberships..... Loads of smiley, thronging, chitting and chatting, too many waggy tails to count!
'Residents' pics have been added to their own threads, but it was lovely to see Charlie and Louie at our 'At Home' day...
Tracey and Amyjo came along, with some lovely donations. Tins, (tick), but where's the good stuff?
Amy: 'I could have sworn I brought towels...... '
Tracey: 'Take your time Amy.....'
Again, there was tension in the air...... but....
What's Louie laughing at He knows something.....
This is what Louie saw earlier......
Tracey!!!!!
ooooh nooooooo - Tracey!!! How could you
Thank you sooo much to everyone, not least of all Becky & Rob, who were magnificent 'the other side of the window' keeping doglets coming in and out, doing the feeding, cleaning, manning the phone, the enquiries, the potential rehomers, etc, despite Friends making the reception area look like something from 'Harrods-Sale-Meets-Scrufts'. It really was amazing! Thank you to everyone who came, what a fabulous show of generosity and goodwill for the doglets!
See y'all next month
