Wow - what a fabulous day for it, and we didn't stop for a minute ;D
Katie & Lynne are super-organised, and brought a fabulous 'filing system' so we didn't clutter up the whole of the car park ;D
Getting ready...
Finishing touches to the Cakes ....
And we're ready to roll.....
The donations came flooding in, including a very special donation from Bridie, who has been walking Nahla this weekend. Young Bridie presented Friends with a whole months' pocketmoney, plus a sizeable chunk from her Birthday money, and has asked if we could put it towards Nahla's Vet Bills.
Bridie, that is
such a kind thing to do
I don't know many people who would donate all their income for
whole month to help one of our dogs
Pat brought a whole carload of lovely things, some of which were snapped up and duly paid for before they hit the ground...
'I'll take the big blue ball please....'
Sorted ;D
Rach was on her best behaviour today, and didn't nab all the 'good stuff'
And Emma turned up trumps with a bunch of I Need a Home leads, hand finished, which Rob declared 'Just the job'! Nice one Emma
We had a mahoosive box of blankies and towels, 'top scran' dog food, and we filled the fridge with Kong Fillers (including some
very posh pate - lucky doglets) ); Lynne had bags and bags of bags Rags to Riches, and we also got three mahoosive boxes far-too-good-for-Cash-for-Clothes posh totty wear, lots of it still with labels on, designer (including Abercrombie & Fitch and a cocktail dress with the label still on - that was
reduced to £150
... handbags and Ugg Boots, and some really lovely things... So Rach's next car boot sale is going to feature a designer rail of the very best - Gok Wan - eat your heart out ;D
What else, oh yes - Kate had
two car loads full of nursery and kidlet items - again, loads of it still in bags and wrappers, for the Kids stall in March, and we got more duvets
and a big box of nice things for Woodlands (see you in the week Cheryl) - brand new fleeces and cutest glass jars, lots of ribbons and a catering size box of Cadbury Creme Eggs (thank you Rach).....
Rach took away another car load of car booty (thank you Pat), and Caz (DD) very kindly offered to eBay some of the brand spanking new camping equipment Pat donated. When I say Caz offered, it went like this....
Me: hmmmmm, much to good to car boot, what shall we do with this'?
Bern: 'Caz will eBay it for you' ;D
Thanks Caz
you know it's not my forte, and I would end up bidding for it myself if I dared to try to sell it. I just don't quite 'get' eBay
And the lovely Katie kept our bellies full of cake
All the proceeds when into a pot along with the cash from a few of Pat's car boot donations that got snapped up, and at the end of the afternoon there was a princely £26.50 in the pot
Katie and Pat asked if we could put this towards Nahla's vet bill, which is very much appreciated
but Gutsy boy had his own ideas about the right place for cake - his tum!
'Feed me Bern'!
All day long, the dogs were out with walkers, and some of them stopped by for a chat...
King, on his very best behaviour....
And the lovely Froggy from K26, (was Poppy), who stole a few hearts today
Phew
Busy day, but an amazing turn out, everyone was soooooo generous, and there were lots of smiley faces when we (eventually) packed up ;D
PS - Rach, I've got another donation of crafty bits that came in after you left... will drop them down the Home tomoz ;D
Massive thanks to everyone who came to say Hi, and who brought carfulls of donations. It was lovely to meet some new Friends today - and catch up with some 'old' Friends, and *hugs* to our Young Friends too
