This is the plan-- The Xmas Dog will be leaving my place in his Sultans Chair just after 10.40 to walk into town ::)and arrive St John Sq at 11. We have 3 dog masks and 3 dog noses, and the ''Chair will be playing Xmas Carols from a CD player . We have three hand held placards promoting what FCDH do. I hope to have an upto date rehoming book and a small table. So if anyone would like to help Caz and I get these things up to town we will be very gratefull. We can find some parking for you near by if you need it. It will be great if some volunteers could bring out their dogs dressed in tinsle or redscarfs Xmas style. Oh! and we will have buckets and shaker tins, how could I have forgotten that. ;D

Big shout for helpers! The first of our December Street Collections is Saturday 1st! Bern and Caz are going to be on duty from start to finish but they are going to need help carrying to and from town. It's a 15 min walk from Bern's house into town - is anyone able to meet up at Bern's at 10.40 to do the walk into town, and also they will need help packing up and carrying the buckets & stuff back home at 3.30ish? Really sorry I'm not around for this one. Hope it's a really good day for y'all

The 1st Cardiff St Collection took place today with the Xmas Dog in his chair being carted into St Johns Square by Caz DD, Sandra and me, getting some funny looks on the way. It was very crowded at St Johns due to far more wooden huts than last year. Settled outside Owain Glyndwr only to be moved on by the manager. We found a spot opposite and our collection started in ernest. Great support today from-- CazDD, Sandra, Lynne & Gutsy Sharron, Andrea plus part time hubby, Eli & Millie, CherylW and Kara. An early visit from Clare and Patch. As usual the day was made by the dogs, Gutsy in his Xmas gear was brilliant ably assisted by Millie and Kara. At all these events it is the dogs that really draw the attention. Photos to follow from CazDD and I think Cheryl. The amount raised will be posted by Andrea as the buckets were so heavy they were taken home by car, and Andrea volunteered to count it as well

Millie and myself had a great time! She got to be a right tart having lots of scratches, tickles and tummy rubs. If the weight of the buckets and the smiles on the faces of those who stopped to say hello are anything to by I'd say it was a roaring success! Kara looked resplendent in her Christmas collar and Gutsy looked absolutely ace in his Christmas outfit. I think the dogs did really well and were great ambassadors for the home. Massive well done to everyone involved today xx

Hi guys. Thought I'd better not keep you in suspense any longer!! Can I have a drum roll please The amount collected today is an amazing £488. Oh my god, can you believe that amazing total?? Sorry Bern, your estimate of £350 didn't come close - thank goodness!!! Not bad for 5 hours work - well done to all involved, and a special thanks to the amazing doglets - Gutsyboy, Millie and Kara, who really did bring the crowds in. If we can encourage these cuties and others to be around for the next 2 Saturdays, who knows what the final total might be. Special thanks to Bern, Caz and Sandra who gallantly carried the huge dog and equipment from the Bay to the City Centre, super effort!! As for the rest of us, we stood very loud and very proud, knowing we were doing good for our lovely dogs back at the home. One more thankyou, and that goes to the people of Cardiff and surrounding area - you were amazing, thank you so very much. xx

I am so glad my estimate by weight was wrong, great job by the team dogs and humans. Thanks Andrea for doing the count.
One thing we need for next week is to find the yellow shaker pots.
