Oh Zeb, aren’t you a handsome chap?!! Zeb behaved like a perfect gent when he came out for his photoshoot today. He walked lovely on his lead, took his treats very gently and didn’t seem at all bothered by the other dogs that were out and about on walks, good boy!! He needs a bit of grooming so if anyone is planning on walking Zeb this weekend, bring your hairbrush along Release date 07/09/12 If you'd like more info, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7days a week, 10.30 - 4pm

I had the pleasure of walking Zeb today - he is an amazing boy!! He came out of kennels very excited but he calmed down immediately. He walked very well on the lead, particularly when you take into consideration what a big, strong boy he is. I had no trouble walking him, no pulling, no criss crossing, just a nice steady trot He wasnt bothered by traffic, bikes, joggers or other people, he didnt give them a second glance. He sat nicely when we came across other dogs and I got the feeling he would have enjoyed a good play with them. He knows sit and paw and takes his treats ever so gently. It was Friends last Sunday event today so the car park was bustling when we got back to the Home. Zeb was quite happy to lay on the floor for 10 minutes just taking it all in. One of our young volunteers Katie (14 today, happy birthday!) gave him a good brush and he enjoyed every minute of it. An absolutely beautiful boy on the inside as well as the outside! He is a fantastic ambassador for his breed and I really hope he is snapped up soon. If anyone is looking for a larger dog please ask to take Zeb for a walk and get to know him, I guarantee you will fall in love with him like I did today

I headed for Zeb's page today and was so glad to see him at top of the list! I've got to agree with the glowing reviews, we took him out two weeks ago and he definitely is a great example of his breed. Zeb was desperate for a trip to the barbers when we saw him! He just rolled about having his tummy brushed. He's generally very good natured, gentle with treats and just look what a beautiful Rottie he is:

I was lucky enough to take Zeb out again yesterday, this boy is an absolute DREAM to walk. Friends were having a Meet and Greet at Pets At Home so I walked him there, its a fair old walk and he thoroughly enjoyed it!! He met his public at Pets At Home and had lots of admirers ;D We had a little jog back to the Home and it was fantastic to see this handsome boy stretch his legs a bit I really cannot understand why he is still at the Home He is a stunning boy to look at but not only that, he has a wonderful personality. He enjoys a fuss, takes his treats like a gentle little lamb, enjoys a good grooming session and is just amazing. I have totally fallen for him and I really hope someone who can offer him a loving home does the same soon!

We bumped into a couple with an excitable collie today when we were walking Zeb and it was such a shame to see the lady back away just because he's a Rottie. I was saddened to think that it makes other people walk past Zeb in his kennel and never think to give him a home. It's all about the walk when Zeb first gets out of the kennel but don't be fooled! When he heads back to the home he likes nothing more than to roll around having his tummy rubbed. He's an affectionate boy who knows how to give his paw and sit on command. He takes his treats so gently that I could easily give him the whole pack as a reward! He's a very handsome Rottie who likes to play, with dogs and people alike and he utterly deserves a loving home. If you're looking for a big dog with a big heart, look no further.

Has anyone tried mixing Zeb with another dog yet? Do you have to be a registered dog walker with Cardiff Dogs Home to take Zeb out, or can you just book a walk, would really like to take him for a walk with my two dogs if possible!

Hi Eleanor,
If you are interested in rehoming Zeb you don't need to be a registered walker, just give the home a call and arrange to go and see him and take him out. If you want to introduce him to your dogs the staff will have the most up to date information on what he is like with other dogs. They will tell you whatever they can ;D

As tempting as it is, unfortunately my house is too small for three big brutes, I have however fallen in love with Zeb, and I'm trying desperately to spread the word to help him. I was hoping to take him for a walk just to get him out and about for a bit, as I notice he's been in kennels for q couple of months now Should I register as a volunteer dog walker?

Hi Eleanor, unfortunately the Home have closed the Register for new dog walkers at the moment. As soon as it opens up again we will post on here and on our Facebook page to let people know. We really appreciate your interest
