This handsome fella is Scout and he is friendly little lad!! He has the waggiest of waggy tails and thoroughly enjoyed having a good old sniff in the Sensory Garden area. He is an inquisitive boy and no leaf was left unsniffed! He didnt seem too interested in treats but the ones that he did have he took very gently. Poor Scout has sore eyes at the moment but this will heal in no time now he is receiving treatment. Good luck Scout, we hope you find a loving home soon! Scout is available for rehoming on 4th December If you'd like to know more please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7days a week, 10.30 - 4pm

Joseph walked the lovely Scout today. He was a delight! Scout is a lovely dog. He was eager to go for a walk, he’s very good when walking him. He was fun to walk as he was very good on the lead. He’s good around other dogs and is well trained he didn’t tug. When I was walking Scout he stayed beside the whole time. He was very nice to walk and I looking forward to walking him next week.

Hello handsome boy I so wish I had room for 3 Jr's. I just hope people aren't over looking you because of your skin infection round your eyes. Please please please don't be put off the lovely Scout because of it!! I assume from the photos he has a bit of mange, but we adopted our little un in March not from CDH but another rescue, who, understandably didn't want to let us adopt her until she was well, as, she had virtually no fur from her mange and the vets actually asked us if we were sure we wanted to take her on, as if she hadnt been rescued when she was she probably would have died she was that bad! Happy to say she grew all her fur back within 6 months and was given the all clear. So please give Scout a chance he like all terriers will give you a daily barrel of love, laughs and cwtches

I walked Scout today and we both loved it, his tail didnt stop wagging and my mouth was a permanent grin He is an absolute pleasure to walk, he is a dream on his lead, no pulling just a nice steady pace, although he did enjoy it when I sped up to a jog a few times! I bet he would just LOVE an off lead run about! He seems like a confident little man and nothing bothered him in the slightest. He walked down Penarth Road and wasnt fazed by the traffic and bikes and joggers caused him no problems either. A lovely couple with their own dog stopped to say hello to him and he was more than happy to receive a fuss off them. They had an off lead Collie who came up to say hello to Scout and he was very polite around her. We also saw Miseltoe at the car park in the Home and he had a very waggy tail for her, proper little ladies man His sore eyes have cleared up a treat and he is looking fantastic! He is in really good shape and is as fit as a fiddle. I had him out for well over an hour and he definately could have gone on for much longer. Scout is a very handsome boy and has a cracking personality to go with it, I really am baffled as to why he is still at the Home Someone please snap him up quickly before I add him to my collection of terriers (and receive divorce papers in return!)

Hi Vic, Im not sure if the vets have aged him. I have met him a few times and I would hazard a guess at around 5ish maybe. Hes certainly not a youngster but he's not an old fella either. He is an absolutely cracking boy ;D
If you give the Home a call on 02920 711243 they would be able to confirm if the Vets have put an age to him! x

Hi Sam, Scout was picked up as a stray (as was Toby) so unfortunately we do not know anything about his past life and whether or not he has lived with children. I have met Scout a few times and he has always been extremely friendly The Home is closed at the moment but the best thing to do would be give them a call on Monday (02920 711243) and have a chat with the staff. They will be able to advise on both dogs suitability with children. Good luck x

I had the pleasure of walking Scout yesterday. What a sweetiepie! He loved his walk and sniffing the grass and leaves again! Despite being stuck in kennels during the lock down he wasn't as as I was expecting! Really easy to walk on lead, well he did try to pull a little bit but he's only little ! Aw! Not phased by anyone else we saw out. He was very gentle taking treats and stood on hind legs to ask for them! He didn't jump up just did this.. Aw! One other thing that made me laugh, when he stopped for a wee he'd wee, turn around and wee again from other direction, turn around again from another direction! Making sure he'd got that bit of grass from all directions!?! Made me laugh anyway. ;D Hope you get your forever home soon sweet boy. xxx

Hi Becky1
I've just called the home I'm coming to see him Sat to hopefully give him a forever home :-) . Any other characteristics? He's lovely cant wait to meet him. I'm an experienced JRT owner who adores them. Do you think he is toilet trained indoors? I have a little blind JRT called Ellie who has just lost her 16yr old brother. Cheers

Hi Tracey, I cant be certain if he is house trained but every time I have walked him he has poo'd and wee'd fairly quickly into his walk which I think is a good indication that he could be He is a fabulous little guy who doesn't seem bothered by anything on his walks. I hope it goes well for you on Saturday, I would love to see him go to his own home, I really have a soft spot for this boy! Sorry to hear you have lost one, I bet Ellie is missing her brother x
