Just to let you know we came and got Scout this morning.... Weather lovely clear roads ! A success!! Scout and Ellie getting on fine - she's even tolerating the constant attention to her bottom ;-) hopefully he will get bored of it soon! Took him for 2hr walk around his new neighbourhood town and country , met a few doggies on the way - very sweet with all of them ! Considering he is in a strange environment (he's asleep in a warm comfy fleecey orthopaedic bed at the moment it's been a busy day) he is settling in remarkably well - it's only been a short time but I think he will be fine. Took him to my vet (my work) and he was very happy there - had a mini check up - my vet thinks he is nearer 7/8 yrs, so older than we think. So pleased he likes us! Thank you all for your kind comments in lead up to his rescue with us! I will keep you posted! Scout says "thank you all for taking care of me and taking me on my lovely walks" . Continue your amazing work there and I hope the doggies there get their forever homes very soon! Xxxxx
I was at the Home this evening and the first thing I did was look to see if Scout had gone! I am so pleased for you that you were able to come today, you have been so patient! Thanks for letting us know how he is settling in so far and thank you so much for offering him his own home x
Just to update you on Scout, he has settled in wonderfully! Such a lovely dog and he has made himself at home well and truly, Ellie loves him and he is very fond of her. love him so very much, has made friends with friends and family dogs. Such lovely manners. Would really love to know who had him before and his background he has clearly been socialised very well. He loves his walks and has enjoyed the forest nearby everyday. Absolute cracking little dog. I'm just sorry didn't know his plight sooner but its all good now. Tracey xx
Hiya Tracey, this is the post I have been waiting to read ;D I am so happy that Scout has settled in well and even happier to hear that your Ellie loves him! He is a fantastic little lad and it sounds like he is having the life he so deserves. Thank you for being so patient and waiting for him, and giving him the chance for a fab new life. This has made my day xxx
Tracey says: 'Scout has settled in wonderfully and we love him to bits such a lovely natured dog, a smashing little lad!! He is very well and very happy with his new sister Ellie he really loves her'!!
Scout found his forever home in Wiltshire - and that is a testament to everyone who has helped our beautiful dogs find their forever homes by sharing them on Facebook, and sharing their walkers tales on our forum.
Thanks for keeping in touch Tracey, it's soooooooo nice to see updates on our dogs
We were deeply saddened to hear that Ben (was Scout) has left his darling family for Rainbow Bridge.
Tracey emailed us...
Ben was just adorable and loved by us so very much and we are so glad to he got to spend his precious years with us! He went on holidays to Ireland, Lake District, Yorkshire and spent days on the beach when visiting our mums in Sussex! Absolute joy from the moment he got home with us! Were in pieces here but know his free from further suffering - his kidney disease had really taken it's toll by the weekend and we didn't want him to suffer, he'd stopped eating and was struggling to walk and was very very weak. We still would love to know who had him before and his background and what led him to be this beautifully behaved fearless gentle soul. We will never know . Truly he was such a good dog.
