Thought we should have a 'who's doing what' sort out
Getting To and From the ShowAre we going to load up cars on Sunday? I think it makes sense. We have to be set up and cars
off site by
8.30 am.
So loading up on Monday isn't going to be an option. I've got car passes for our vols
I'll let you have these on Sunday too.
Please post here if you are able to transport stuff, and if you are bringing stuff, I'm afraid you'll have to be there at the end to pack up too. Hopefully there will be a lot less to bring home!
I'll be loading up the green machine obviously. We need to pick up tables from Victoria Park on Friday - I can do this, there are 10, that's pretty much going to fill my car. The treats are at my mother's house in Barry, so I'll load these up too, and bring the table cloths, but that'll be me pretty full.
Lynne daffysmum - Lynne, you're not going to have much room with the family in the car? How much do you think you can take?
Lynne gutsysmum - Lynne, how much room will you have in your car? Any space for a bit of stock?
Bern - We've got 1 gazebo to take. (Lynne, I hope this is OK, Caroline was desperate for spare gazebos, so she is borrowing the white pole one and the new green one Alun donated. We've got the big green one, I think the way we set up at VP was fine). Bern, if you can also take the netting and the pig irons and the cuddly toy tombola that will probably be your car full? When do you want to pick up?
Sandra - are you able to transport stuff?
Rach - are you able to transport stuff?
Lisa Van Steene - has offered to transport stuff. Lisa, as you have so lovingly sorted the leads & collars
could you take these and the harnesses? I think we got them down to about 3 big IKEA bags in the end, plus the bin of harnesses.
Other stuff we need to transport.....
A few
big bags of toys
A few
big bags/boxes of sundry doggie stuff
Some bigger items, agility equipment, carry cases, etc
I wasn't going to take coats & beds, unless someone is available to help sort some out during the week. I think the beds will sell better from CDH, and the coats will fly out at Pembrey in September, so I'm not really bothered about these.
If anyone else has room to transport, please post up here, but you will need to pick up on Sunday from CDH, arrive at Fonmon in time to set up, and maybe help with taking stuff back at the end of the day. I know, it's a big ask
Arrangements on the dayWe need peeps to man our Barks & Spencers Stall, the Cuddly Toy Tombola, the Doggy Dash and the Best Sausage Catcher. Also, Raffle ticket sellers (both at the Entries Tent and also walk abouters).
We also need vols to cover show duties, and the whole area has to be left as spic and span as we find it, so help with litter picking at the end of the day is on our list of things we need to help with.
This is what I think we have confirmed so far......
Barks & Spencer and Cuddly Toy TombolaLynne Daffysmum & Co
Rachel
Sandra
Lisa van Steen (afternoon)
Sian from VP is also going to have a bit of space on our stall, and will be an extra pair of hands.
I'm not sure if Lynne Gutsysmum is coming? Lynne, if you are, could you and your merry band cover the Tombola side of the stall?
That should be plenty of peeps to cover the stall and tombola with plenty opportunities for taking time out to enter some classes, and catch some of the displays etc.
Doggy Dash and Best Sausage CatcherBern, Andrea & OH, Lisa & Craig, (is that OK for you Andrea and Lisa)? and Lucy/Al for a session (time tbc).
Bern, the Doggy Dash and the Best Sausage Catcher will be next to each other, as they were last year, so we could have one person sitting down taking entries for both. That should give everyone a chance to have a break. Does that sound OK to you? Entries £1 a go.
There are a number of specific show duties we need to cover, I'm not 100% what else we're needed for, but these have been penned in already...
Entries: Becky & Cheryl. And Kath, are you OK to help with entries in the afternoon? Entries are from 9.15 until 1 o'clock. Then there will be a break until 2.15 and in the afternoon entries will go on until people stop entering ;D I know from last year that this is an extremely full-on task. Becky & Cheryl, you are going to be going at it like mad until lunch time, but with Kath's help in the afternoon, you should both get a chance to
fall alseep enjoy a bit of free time in the afternoon. Thanks yous three, it's a huge weight of my mind to have safe hands on entries
MC: Morning Session, me ;D Afternoon Session, Andrew
Steph, will this be OK for Andrew?
We will be helping with other Show Duties, Marshalls (to check entries in the collection ring), Judge's Assistants (to bring rosettes & prize bags to the judges), Water Bowl Fillers (an hourly circuit of water bowls), and we're going to confirm with the organisers tomorrow what other help is needed.
I have vehicle passes for
all volunteers, please see me on Sunday ;D
Also, for the Show Duty Vols, the organisers have kindly offered Free Priority Lunch Vouchers. As you'll be on time specific tasks, it will mean you don't have to queue for your lunch, to be fair, that'll be the last thing you want to do with so much to see!
