hi all i thought i would give you an update on my poor baby He is a very sad boy indeed, but rest assured he is getting extra extra loving off me and my family He has become even more of a scaredy cat than i ever thought possible, i cant even hover ;D which is such a shame (not) he has lost weight and ive had to start hand feeding him as he is even scared of his food bowl, i'm thinking of taking out shares in sausage rolls I know that he is missing everyone very much, as you all know he loves his cuddles off you guys. Fingers crossed he will be on top form very soon, Gutsy sends you all big kisses and is looking forward to seeing you soon will update you soon Lynne and Gutsy

Healing thoughts lovely boy Blimey, it's been a long week for you Lynne Is it all going as you (and vet) expected? He seems to be taking a while to get back to his normal self Lynne - is he struggling with the buster collar? I know it's a judgement call, but I don't use them (unless there is no other option). I have always found they are more distressing that the 'condition' (whatever that is) as long as you can keep the dog from worrying away at the tender part (wherever that may be). I never used one for castration or spey - except at night when the dog wasn't 'supervised'. For Rosie (with all her problems) I used a babygro to stop her gnawing her legs. I can't think of anything you could use to stop him scratching - except vigilance and distraction. I've seen more than one dog panic when they bash their buster collar on a door, a wall the floor, their food & water dishes Is he still wearing it? Maybe give him some supervised time out from it? *hugs* to you all, I know you'll be hurting at least (but probably more) than Gutsy is, he is very very loved

I never used one for castration or spey - except at night when the dog wasn't 'supervised'. As Susie says might be worth at least giving him a break from it for a while if thats whats bothering him. Wilf had an ear op (and lymph node op) years ago at a vet school and my own vets suggested taking the buster off every now and then (Wilf looked so miserable when he had it on) especially when he was eating and other times of the day when I could monitor him. Hope the lovely Gutsy starts to feel better soon and starts feeling more himself
