This nosey parker is Sid and he had a good old sniff around the Vets room when he came out for his photoshoot! He is a handsome hunk of a boy with the most swoonsome eyes, a real charmer! He was extremely gentle taking his treats, does an excellent sit and will wait very patiently for some pate - good boy Sid!! He seemd to have bundles of energy and Im sure he will look forward to some long strolls from the walkers ;D If you'd like more info on Sid, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm.

I walked this lovely fella today and he is one handsome hunk! He is in great condition physically and seems like a nice confident boy whilst out walking. We didnt come across any dogs, but we did pass a fair few people, bikes and obviously the traffic on Penarth Road. Sid wasnt bothered by any of it and just wanted to walk I think he would have loved a jog but as I was wearing so many layers due to the cold this wasnt an option for me today, sorry Sid! He does a great sit and takes his treats very gently but didnt come across as a foodie (he turned his nose up at the Jumbone I had for him at the end of the walk : We stopped at a bench for some photos and we shared a "moment" - a nice face rub (for him not me!) and he was just looking at me with those amazing eyes of his. I could feel myself melting Good luck Sid, I hope you find your own loving family real soon. Just turn on the charm, look people in the eye with those beautiful eyes of yours and they will be putty in your paws ;D

Took Sid out for a stroll yesterday, what a lovely boy! We started the walk with the usual pull down the lane, but once he had worked off his initial excitement of being out he settled down. He was clearly happy to be out and spent the beginning of the walk happily sniffing and didn't really pay much attention to me, but when we stopped by the river he enjoyed a fuss, making the usual staffie snorts! He has such a handsome face: and a cheeky personality: Sid is such a lovely chap, but I think potential owners would need to walk him a bit further than down the lane to see his true potential, as he takes a little while to settle into a nice walk.

Hi Diane As none of us walkers have noted that they have seen Sid around other dogs, give the Home a call and see if they have any info on how he is around other dogs. You would need to bring your girl to CDH to meet Sid and see how they get along, the staff will assist you with this though I have walked Sid (we didnt come across any other dogs!) and he is a lovely, sweet boy. Like Jen says above, if you do go to meet him take him a bit further on than the lane as he needs 5 minutes or so to calm down. Poor lad is not happy in kennels but once his initial excitement subsides a bit he settles into a nice walk x

Poor Sid isnt coping very well in kennels and who can blame him, he has been at CDH for coming up to 2 months now. I was speaking to the staff about him yesterday and he is really struggling I took him out to the Garden for 30 minutes and what a totally different dog he was ;D He did a few 100 mph off lead laps of the area, a few good sniffs and then it was down to the serious business of a game of fetch! He flippin LOVED it!! He was so focused on the ball, incredibly fast, and brought it back every single time, dropped it at my feet and just looked as if to say "well throw it then". I think tennis balls are the way forward with this boy and any future training! He was a bit more interested in food than last time when I walked him, so again, this would be useful for training purposes. He is very gentle taking his treats and does a fantastic sit for them. Sid is clearly unhappy in kennels, he is jumping up and barking but this isnt the same Sid that you get outside. If anyone is looking for a loving, handsome, playful, energetic young man, please please consider him. He really deserves a chance to shine So focused!! Stunning young man! What has a boy got to do to get a treat in this place!!

I cant get enough of this boy at the moment Had him out for a nice long walk this afternoon, and he walked so much better on his lead today! A little bit of excited pulling at first but that literally lasted a couple of minutes. It was a glorious day so lots of other dogs were out and about. He walked past Rosie and Eli with no problems whatsoever and walked in Lola's company for a short while on the way back to the Home and he was very relaxed around her. We didn't let them get too close but they were both very polite with each other. A larger off lead dog ran up to Sid on the mountain to say hello and the two of them sniffed both ends of each other very politely and went on their way ;D This boy is just golden. He is handsome, affectionate and playful. He shows all the signs of being good around other dogs and he's a confident walker who isn't bothered by anything going on around him. He's a young man in the prime of the life at the moment and it breaks my heart that he is spending it at the Home. Sid doesn't present himself well in kennels, he jumps up and barks when people pass his pen, but he is struggling with life in there. Get him outside and he is just lovely.

I spent some more time with Sid on the weekend and the more I see him, the more I love him, he is fab! He really isnt showing his best side in the kennel block so if you are looking for a gorgeous Staffie boy in your life, please take Sid out and get to know him. Dont be put off by his behaviour inside, as he is just full of fun and love. I think his favourite thing is to play fetch with a tennis ball, he will bring it back and drop when asked (sometimes only in return for a treat, ;D) He also likes to be chased and barks with delight when we play this game! He can sit on command and is a very gentle boy taking his treats. Sid has been waiting too long for his own home and I really wish I was in a position to adopt him myself, I would have him in a heartbeat.

I took Sid out today for a nice long walk and as usual, he was just golden. A fair few off lead dogs ran up to him to say hello, he gave polite sniffs and carried on his way. I think Sid finds walks far more interesting than other dogs behinds and I cant say I blame him I had a bit of a run with him and he just loved being able to stretch his legs! You can literally see the joy in his face when you take him out for a walk and I know I have said it so many times, but he is such a different dog outside of his kennel. Enjoying a nice drink! Having a quiet minute Gorgeous fella
