I am totally gutted by this, Twizzle was a lovely little girl. I met her twice before she came to stay with me and it was with some trepidation that I took her home with me on December 8th last year. But she was so totally different in the house, no barking, no fuss, no shredding my soft furnishings (ahem Henry Cooper). When I was in the kitchen she would just sit and watch from the doorway. I can't explain what stopped me from adopting her but when she had the offer of this op I felt I had made the right decision as she would not have had this chance otherwise. Everything for a reason, as they say. Thanks to Baglady for giving me the chance to love Twizz and my thanks also to Tom the vet for giving Twizzle a lovely straight leg. I was always hoping that Twizzle would find her 'furever sofa' but my door was always open for her to come back to me if needed.
Run free little girl, princess, Erin, Ellie, Loren, Jodi, Aneira, Eowyn, Calum, Paul, Wesley, Henry Cooper and Me x

I'm working this evening and finding it very hard to be professional and not to cry.
I am devastated to hear the news about Twizzle. Like everyone on the forum, I wanted the very best for this beautiful little girl.
I saw her in the stable block on Thursday and there was a real air of excitement about her as though she knew something momentous was about to happen in her life. That was made possible by all the love and support she was given by Susie and before that, Carol. Also by the wonderful fundraising and donations from Twizzle's Friends.
Twizzle was the recipient of a bucketload of love but she GAVE so so much more - her friendship, her courage, her character and her faith. She was a very special little girl......and will continue to be so in all the lives she touched.
Carol, your words about Twizzle quietly watching you from the kitchen doorway have put a real lump in my throat. I think she really wanted to make the best impression.......and didn't she do that time and again?!
I'm sure I'm not the first to mention this but it would be lovely to have something to mark Twizzle's life and big heart. Would a plaque and perhaps a new scented plant in the sensory garden be an idea? I'd willingly pay for that.
Have a wonderful time at Rainbow Bridge Twizzle - run free, send our love to all the others and say hello to Mr Jingles for me.
It was a privilege to know you

I've been reading back through Twizzle's thread, all the lovely pictures and the appeals from Carol and others to give her a home.
I'm so sad that I didn't push things more quickly with my husband who was edging towards a yes after I'd kept on at him for months. We live in a top floor flat and he was concerned about how Twizzle would manage with three flights of stairs. Reading everything though, I really think we could and should have taken the plunge.
I'm sorry beautiful girl

So sad to see this news, both for Twizz and for all the people who loved her.

I think we should have a pool party in memory of Twizzle in the sensory garden for all the dogs, individually of course. As she loved the paddling pool

Was thinking, perhaps we could install a "rainbow" bridge in the garden in her honour. People could dedicate a tile to pets who have gone over the bridge (or something) and the money could go to friends?

We could use the back wall of the stable block by the fountain as a memorial wall

I really like the idea of a Rainbow Bridge in the garden One of our supporters is doing a sponsored walk, he was going to donate the money to Twizz's vet fund, and as soon as he heard the news, he messaged us ... I will go ahead with my walk as planned and in every step I take along the route my thoughts will be with Twizzle .Obviously you can put any money I raise towards whatever purpose you wish but maybe some form of commemorative plaque might be appropriateAll of our dogs are special, every single one of them, and whenever we have lost a dog I know many silent tears have been shed for each and every one of them. They may be strays, but be in no doubt they are all loved, all cherished. We have been contacted by a number of people who have donated money specifically for Twizzle, and they have asked that we use the money to commemorate her name and her story, and it seems to me that it would be particularly lovely if we ensured that her legacy would continue to benefit all CDH resident pooches. I agree Lynne, the back of the stable wall inside the garden would be the perfect spot.

I don't know if it would fit your ideas but I have a piece of sweet chestnut I bought from a wood fair about 2ft by 4-5" about a half inch thick that I had vague ideas of making into a nameplate. Thought if you like I could donate it for a plaque? It would only need treating for outdoor use and fixing up somehow but I could burn something onto it - 'Rainbow Bridge' or some of the dogs names or anything really.
Also, if there's anything else you could use it for, please do, it's just been sat in my room wasted.

I like the idea of making a bridge if different colour tiles with a plaque saying Rainbow Bridge. Anyone who has 'lost' a pet could have a tile to remember them.

Rainbow bridges memorial area of the garden sounds brill, the home has lost some gorgeous dogs lately with Parvo and now Twiz who were all very loved.
Maybe a thread should be made for ideas, it could possibly be away of fundraising also (not to take away the fact of lost companions) but a small donation to add your beloved pets name to the wall so that their memories live on sort of thing..just an idea. X
