Sally - have you spoken with the staff? Are they expecting you? They are on shut down at the moment. Casual visitors will be turned away, as they are carrying out daily deep cleans, they want as little foot fall as possible at the Home, as contaminate can be carried on footwear, clothes, etc.
They will not consider letting any dogs who are not vaccine protected out of kennels, and we are urging people not to telephone the home over the weekend as this will only serve to distract them from the task in hand.
We appreciate that people want to help and rehome dogs, but we have to take into account the wider picture at the moment. The health and wellbeing of every dog, inside CDH and in the general dog population of Cardiff, is the priority of the CDH staff and managers during this difficult time.
S xx

I haven't contacted the staff yet. I was going to ring but that day the parvo outbreak was posted so I felt it was best not to pester them as I know they had a big job ahead of them.
I decided it was best to leave everything until after the 27 th when I could contact them or pop down in person.
In the meantime I will just admire from a far that's why I was v grateful to the lady for the new photos.

Thanks so much, we totally understand how difficult it is for everyone, but the Council and and staff at CDH have to consider the welfare of all of their dogs, and the general dog population outside CDH. If anyone has an unvaccinated dog and doesn't know what to get him/her for Christmas, think no further Vaccination protects dogs and puppies from a broad spectrum of potentially fatal diseases, please please vaccinate your dogs.

Arthur is a lovely old boy who would be best suited to a quite home were he call lounge around most of the day and take lovely stoles around the park. He does not like being in the kennels and really does need to find his forever sofa. If you think you can an offer the home he needs then please contact the home to arrange a visit to meet the gentleman in the flesh

Thanks for the update on Patch. We have a 4 & 7 year old so I'm worried the house maybe too loud for him. I really hope not. Although if he was ok with your 5 yr old he maybe ok. Also the house will be pretty quiet during the day as they will be in school etc. I will def have to ring the home in the next few days & arrange a visit as I would love to meet him in person. We have a lovely snugly sofa ready and waiting for him

Been to see Arthur or patch as he's now known today. What a lovely boy he was. The children loved him straight away & patch enjoyed all the fuss. We didn't want to leave him but we have put a reserve on him and hopefully we can pick him up on Wednesday. Meanwhile my daughter & I are going to buy him lots of goodies for when he comes home. can't wait now. ;D
