I have already text Susie but I wanted to thank everyone who was involved with putting today on!
Despite feeling poorly(me) Alfie and I had a truly lovely day he is totally zonked on the sofa recovering from his third place best rescue performance!
Was lovely to chat with people who rescued from the home.
Anyways just to say THANK YOU EVERYONE x I look forward to photos and hearing how much we raised for our lovely doggies x
p.s. sorry to everyone who endured Alfie hugs and kisses! My coat is filthy!

Lynne & family, setting up the Cuddly Toy Tombola ;D All gifts on the stall are 'preloved', given a pamper 'wash & brush up' by our Friends at Woodlands, and just waiting to be 'rehomed' The raffle was a big winner! Thank you to everyone who donated a bottle (or 5) and we had some lovely runner up prizes too! Thanks to everyone who donated, procured, or otherwise 'brought these to our table' Yes, I know, a lot of them are in the back of my car See separate thread for raffle winners ;D Many thanks to Lorrainne for selling tickets like hot cakes, and for everything else that she helped with 'pre-show' "You buys a load of raffle tickets, you waits all afternoon for the draw, and nothing, nada, zero, zilch......" Thanks to everyone who bought tickets too The Christmas Doggy Stall, manfully manned by Gill & Co, did a roaring trade, check out all the pics of 'Scarved Up' and 'Bandana'd' and 'Winter Warmed Up' doglets in Lucee's pics here ;D Lucy, I think you're one of the few people who was the wrong side of the camera for the whole day You did a fabulous job, I know you didn't stop to blink from the minute you arrived, thank you sooooo much for making sure the dogs had their 'special moments' captured for posterity We threw some books at Claire, and asked her to try to make a half decent display of it, but that we weren't expecting Waterstones... Blimey, fair play to Claire & Co, the stall looked absolutely amazing...... resulting in some very happy customers, who left with arms full of books (and cakes).... but thankfully, even though she refused to leave her stall all afternoon, I managed to catch Claire taking a well deserved 5 minute break outside the hall... ...and talking of cakes (nom nom), I hereby offer up a public apology for locking Shelley and Margo in the kitchen for the whole afternoon They were both magnificent, and had queues lining up pretty much the whole afternoon..... and here's why.... Tasty or what ;D Thank you soooo much to everyone who baked a cake! Including a very special lady who couldn't join us on the day, but has been supporting the stray dogs of Wales for a l-o-o-o-o-n-g time with her smashink homemade cakes & chutneys. Jean, hope you get to read this, we are sooooooooo grateful

One of the mostest fabulous things about Friends is that we're brand spanking new, we can put our own stamp on things, carve out a new and unique identity for ourselves, and this was much in evidence on the day ;D Mahoosive to Denise, our lovely Indian Head Massage therapist (Denise, is that the right word)? All I know is you brought a 'touch of class' and de-stress heaven to the madhouse that was Friends first ever 'Big Event' ;D "Ahhhhhh, that's sooooooo nice......." And Kath East, you was on top form, and I was a *little bit* worried about how you would cope without your broomstick but methinks you brought some 'good luck for the show' spells with you And yes, I did catch you on camera Peeps, Kath is owned by 2 cats, Merlin & Mischka, but has been devoted to helping stray dogs for a number of years, and we're very lucky to have such a diverse talent (Kath, is that the right word)? ;D ;D ;D Thanks for everything Kath, you knows I luffs you lots And our Dog Show took a bit of a twist from the 'normal' course of events, with the very popular 'Catch the Sausage' Class I wasn't there are the beginning, and I didn't stay to the end, so sorry if I missed your dawg 'doing his/her thang' but it was lovely to see the dogs enjoying Costco's best sausage (thank you Bern) ;D Oh yes - while I'm here - who nicked the rest of the sausages at the end of the show Fudgie and Bas were promised the leftovers for being good boys whilst mummy was out for the day Must remember to thank OH for looking after my doglets - thank you 'Mr Baglady' And this one, remember 'You saw it here first' ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The Amazing Human Fruit Machine Never before seen in Cardiff, or the Vale of Glamorgan, or indeed in Wales (OK, yes, we got it out at Pembrey, but that was just testing the market) All credit when it's due - the lovely Clair Miller, Aled Pugh and Pauline Power turned up for 'duty' not knowing what to expect, and when I showed them some pieces of plastic fruit, some golden jackpot coins, and some hessian bags from Shaws, who could blame them for thinking 'OMG what have we let ourselves in for' ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D " did I win? did I? did I? three bananas? Come on, three bananas! Las Vegas is ain't, lotsa fun it is - big time! and I loved the sound effects - such a beautiful, harmonic, soulful 'awwwwwww' consolation prize for the gamblers who lady luck wasn't with on the day ;D This woman (who I happen to know *a little bit*) is soooooooo going to kill me for posting these pics Christine! I'll make it up to you OK? ;D I am sooooo dead don't go away peeps , there's more to come

You are very welcome! Me and mum quite enjoyed being locked in the kitchen all day - we got to meet lots of lovely people ( and some dogs who broke free because the smell of the lovely cakes was too much!) Mum did run away back home to Pembrokeshire eventually! Dad used to be in the Lions so uses used to cake sales and what not and they have a little coffee shop where she works so she was quite at home! (I think she should sync all visits with our events!) Someone suggested that as we were the only food available maybe bacon butties or saussage rolls would have been a shout and I think its def something to bear in mind when we get somewhere that has a fab kitchen! Make the most of it! Soooooo thrilled at how much we raised! Amazing! Well done EVERYONE! 2012 is gonna be a brilliant year if we can keep this momentum up! Shell X
