Please tip-toe up to kennel 3 to whisper a gentle welcome to Roxy, pretty little staffie girl.
Roxy is five years old. Sadly for Roxy, she is no stranger to the Home.
As a young pup, she found herself at CDH numerous times, having been allowed to stray. On the last occasion she was not collected by her owner and was adopted. That was just over two years ago. Unfortunately for Roxy, her owners circumstances have changed and they are unable to keep her. So this poor girl has found herself back at the home.
Unsurprisingly, Roxy seems to remember that life in a kennel isn't the same as life with a family, she was trembling in her kennel this evening, and it took a bit of gentle coaxing to persuade her to come out.
She was still troubled for a little while in the vet room, but eventually she crept towards us for a cwtch, and showed us her loving, affectionate nature.
After about half an hour, we even managed to get a waggy tail, gentle staffie kisses and a relaxed, happy smile
Some of you may remember Roxy from 2 years ago, she had a scar, and the hair has never regrown. Roxy still has a star-shaped patch, edged with silver hair, on her back. Here's a link to her original rehoming thread, she is as beautiful now as she was then. Roxy 2011
Roxy would probably prefer to be the only dog in a household, but she has lived around very young and teenage children. Roxy is available for rehoming immediately and if you are able to offer her a truly forever and ever home, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm.
