Wow its hard to believe its nearly been 4 months since I took Hooch now Red home from the Cardiff Dogs Home...
We have done so much in this short time...
As some of you know I took Red to the Barry Dog Show to get him noticed and possible rehomed and well ended up falling for him myself and put an application in after I cat tested him and well the rest is history.
A photo from that very day
We had a testing time as Red got neutered and had complications which didn't help with him pulling his stitches and staples out... 3 cones, 1 comfy cone and a few T shirts later and I finally found what would keep Red happy... Hello Kitty oneies
we had a few weeks house bound but as soon as he was all healed up we made up for lost time and since then we have clocked up some miles..
We have climbed mountains (ok so its Caerphilly mountain but still a mountain
) had long walks along the beach in the woods and across fields everyday a different walk and most weekends we spend all day out and about.
Red goes everywhere with me and even went to our Rally weekend away where he enjoyed watching the cars race around and then he had his chance to race around the open fields and also enjoy lots of attention at the local pub
He has made loads of friends along the way too been on pack walks & camping with the SW sibs and mals,
joined the South Wales Dog Walking Group
and joined Paws & Walks dog walking group
So has lots of new walking friends who he loves to meet up with
But the most amazing thing about the last 4 months is how well he has fitted in with the cats (I have 2 Bengals) they are very vocal and run around like idiots chasing and playing so this was always going to be a little testing for poor Red. He is brilliant with them and have more patients then I do with them sometime lol
and just to show how well they all get on... here is a photo... Cusan (who is a little scared of Red and runs away from him unlike Cwtch he stands her ground)
Cusan was asleep on the sofa and Red gentle jumped up and curled up next to Cusan who wasn't sure what to do at first and just looked at Red very shocked.. but Cusan soon realised Red just wanted to cuddle up and go so sleep so he settled down.
This is Cwtch she very often snuggles up to Red so much so she sometimes ends up under him she gets so close
couldn't have asked for a better dog he is lovely... He has learnt a few things since living with me too. He now sits when a dog approaches him often without me having to say anything to him. He can do stay for a short time usually enough to possie for a photo or two.
I've learnt a few new things too... he must sleep on my bed and take up most of the bed... when he gives me his paw he wants a treat and when he nudges my hand he wasn't some fuss.
Thank you for bring Red into my life
