I've watched some very moving coverage of the anniversary of World War One. It's absolutely necessary to remember and honour those who fought and those who were killed - heroes, every single one of them.
I'd also like to remember all the dogs and other animals who were victims of the First World War - they played such vital roles too....as messengers, as artillery carriers, living through the horror as friends and companions to the soldiers.
There's a beautiful memorial to them all in Hyde Park in London....and every November, I wear a purple poppy alongside my red one, to honour ALL who fell.
