This is utterly heartbreaking.
The FBS facebook page is making outrageously false claims about the care of Star in order to make themselves look good.
Why on earth did they not return her to CDH.
My heart goes out to all the staff and volunteers who were working with Star.
Run free little girl.

Such a tragic end to a young life when all you wanted was to give Star the best possible chance of a happy and healthy future. My heart goes out to you all.
Run Free, Star.

I am SO angry reading this
First, and most importantly, because this so-called 'specialist' rescue and the 'experienced' fosterer appear to have made the arbitrary decision to take a young life, without any seeming consultation with the CDH vets and carers who spent so much time nursing her back to the chance of a normal life. That is truly a tragedy.
Secondly, that insinuations were apparently made that she wasn't given the utmost care while living at CDH is outrageous. The very fact that Star - with visual proof - was looking potentially ready to go to a new home, is testament to the first class care she was given.
Who gave these people the right to decide whether she should live or die, with no real knowledge of little Star herself. They may be a breed specific rescue but, as we all know, dogs are individuals and don't always conform to breed 'types'.
RIP Little Star. Know that you were truly loved during your time at CDH and, while your time on this earth was unfairly short, you made an impact while you were here. You truly matter xx

I have just watched the video Charliblogs made of Star again.
Take a look if you haven't seen it - it's full of hope. This was a little girl who was starting to really enjoy her life.
Which makes the actions of 'French Bulldog Saviours' all the more hard to understand
As they have been so quick to make insinuations I, for one, will be letting them know on their FB page exactly what I think of their methods of 'salvation'.
I know the main focus has to be Little Star and paying respect to her......and I will mourn her
However, sometimes anger can be a positive force and, if it makes this specific rescue think twice before making arbitrary decisions in the future, then perhaps some good may come out of this dreadful case.
RIP Little Star - you lived up to your name xx

Thought people might like to see a few videos of Star, taken on Saturday morning at CDH. She was such a delightful, happy little soul

Its lovely to see her like this but it makes it all the more harder to comprehend what on earth FBS were thinking x

I simply cannot believe that a "rescue" like FBS can treat a dog like that.
My sincere sympathies to all staff and volunteers at CDH who knew her so well.
Rest in peace Star.

There was so much more that I could have filmed on Saturday, but didn't because I was certain that (and I feel awful saying this) that Star wouldn't need to have a video on here to get her a home.

You shouldn't feel awful Charliblogs - your lovely films just exemplify what a fabulous little dog Star was - and what hope you all gave her. I hesitate to sound vindictive because I know it won't bring her back but I really feel that 'French BullDog Saviours' need to explain why this decision was taken - and so swiftly. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to it......and I wonder what 'facts' whoever took care of Star based the decision on? We can see from the videos that she was a little dog on the road to a happy life - I really can't believe that in the time between when she left CDH and was eventually put to sleep, that she deteriorated so dramatically? ? I also feel awful for the two prospective new homes Star had lined up. It sounds as though both families put time and effort into getting to know her and were happy to have her make a life with them, whatever her ongoing treatment. They must be heartbroken. I wonder whether it would help to get some sort of explanation for this dreadful incident? I would be very happy to write to 'French Bulldog Saviours' to ask. I'm sure their general motivation is highly commendable - but this taking of Star's little life warrants a valid reason. They owe her - and Star's carers at CDH - that much. The films of her have really got to me - she'd only just begun to live - and I'm really grateful she was surrounded by so many lovely people at CDH

I'm in absolute disbelief & have held back saying more out of respect for Star's life & the amazing team of staff & vol's at CDH who will be hurting so much I know, but shame on this person for the unethical & underhand way he/she has operated. RIP Star. Shine bright little one x

Garrick I think someone should ask FBS why they made the decision to pts so quickly, they need to answer that! It's really affected me. She was a feisty little girl, full of life when I seen her. I just don't understand it at all

Garrick I think someone should ask FBS why they made the decision to pts so quickly, they need to answer that! It's really affected me. She was a feisty little girl, full of life when I seen her. I just don't understand it at all All the questions have been asked, and there was quite a debate about it via Facebook, all of which has now been deleted by FBS. I have even spoken to the practice manager at Park Vets bit due to data protection restrictions he can't divulge the specifics we all want to hear. FBS have backtracked a lot from their first remarks blaming CDH and I have even been blocked from their page. We won't get the answers we want from them, and we all know they were in the wrong. Important thing is that everyone at Friends and CDH knew how well cared for Star was, and how well she was progressing, it is difficult to comprehend and I certainly think FBS and in particular Philomena have a lot to answer for, but trust me, I have really tried for the answers. They just persist in ignoring any challenging questions and try to make themselves look good. The I my way to get answers would be if it was fully investigated, but that's a decision CDH need to make if they want it followed up.

I totally agree with Rhys' comments. FBS and Park vets need to be investigated. FBS allowed deflamatory comments to be posted about CDH on their Facebook page and only decided to withdraw the comments when there was such a backlash from supporters of CDH. Thank goodness Charliblogs made the videos of Star, which surely is evidence that she wasn't in pain or suffering, as was suggested by FBS and Philomena Murphy, some 'saviours' they proved to be. Disgusting behaviour shown by people who were supposed to care for, and be specialists of this breed. They have mentioned on their Facebook page that rectal prolapses are difficult to repair on Frenchies, because of the lack of rectal tissue, however there are quotes from members saying their dogs had been operated on with success, believe it or not, Philomena Murphy is one of the successful owners. Makes this even more unbelievable and me even more angry.
