Disappointed to see some litter back in the lane at the weekend after all the hard work put in to give it a clean! Also, even more disappointed to see people dropping litter under their cars when leaving the home
Would it be worth making some signs, similar to the laminated pick up your poo ones, to gently remind people to help look after the lane? Happy to help out making some signs and can laminate at work (shhh don't tell! ) if people felt that may help? x Grrrrr!!! Angry face!!!!! We do need something, but if we put bins there... Who will empty them? What about contacting Keep Wales Tidy? We could report it as a problem area & they may be able to add it to their litter pick routes? Re the bin, we could suggest that the last walkers bring it in from the lane but I wonder how successful that would be in the week? as opposed to the weekend when there appears to be more walkers around? X

There's no excuse, there are plenty of bins in CDH car park, to throw litter just outside the gates is disgraceful

It's sad and frustrating that we'll possibly never win the battle with the litter louts. But, we can always try to manage the problem and do something about it - as we did to great and satisfying effect last month! Maybe we could meetup for litter-picks every so often or summat?...especially if some of your yummy cakes are on offer Jen?!

I agree, there has to be some kind of health protection issue around certain items that are left in the lane! (eww!)
Happy to pick up bits & pieces as I see them, and if others are happy to do too that'll help.
Perhaps we could organise a quarterly clean up? With the promise of cakes for the workers after of course!

Although, my thoughts would be a quick half hour on the last Saturday of the month ready for last Sunday?? Anyone happy to write to the council about it? I also think if we are going to present it as a health hazard then we new to document what we collect... We have the photos from the clean up we've already done so it's just recording it going forwards. (And now you have said cakes )

Sounds like a plan!
Agree about collecting some more evidence, if we all take some pics when we see litter we can then build a stronger case. How is best to collate these? If we share on here (obviously not the really yuk ones!) can they be copied from here? x

Added to the brain storm list! We do need to photograph the really gross stuff to make our case :/

I used to work in the waste department at Cardiff Council. I am trying to arrange for littering/flytipping signs to be put along the lane. I can't promise anything but I will keep you posted!

Saturday 27th June - next litter pick!! It's been great to see that the lane has remained * a little * cleaner, but the time has come for another go. It should take too long with many hands, so who's in? Come down nice and early walk a couple of dogs then litter pick... then walk more dogs and if we can let's have a tidy up of the garden? 10:30am, see you in the yard!
