Hello everyone! My name is Nicole and I'm 26 and live locally in Penarth. I have not been on the forum in a long, long time (almost 4 yrs!) and have just signed up to be a registered walker soon. I have yet to go to the Dogs Home and as I do not drive and am a full-time worker so I do not have much time to visit or donate physically but I have a few bags to take down soon if and when I can (hopefully getting a lift off someone I know.) However, I have donated money regularly in the past using online payments & I always share campaigns and news on Facebook and Twitter. If I had my own house I would definitely adopt lots of dogs and temporarily fosters those in need when rescue spaces are scarce and the home is full up. Currently I live in a third floor flat and both me & my long-term partner work full-time so cannot commit to a pet just yet. It would not be fair. I also think my current dog would be jealous so would want him to live with me too!
I have a 11 yr old Yorkie cross called Ollie who is a boy and has not been neutered. I have not lived with him for about 6 yrs but make sure I see him for cuddles, long walks, plays and scratches/massage every 1-2 days and I sleepover my parents house every month or so. He has the waggiest tail in the whole of Penarth and loves to make friends but can be a little hesitant and nervous as he was attacked twice by bigger dogs at our local park (Cogan field) since moving here in 2003. Ollie is well-known around Cogan with the regular walkers but because I do not drive we can only walk in and around Penarth and sometimes Dinas Powys. Every month or so my partner and I take him in the car to Barry Island, Cardiff Bay or The Knap.
I will be attending the walkers induction on the last Sunday of April and hope to meet new dog lovers who can be good friends or acquantnaices. Me and my dog are looking for new buddies and walking partners (particularly the golden oldies!) as he is desperately needing a friend and cannot have a companion as my parents do not want any more pets.
Feel free to message me if you wanna walk your older dog with me or make friends with a fellow animal lover.
Thanks!
