I see Missy now and again as she belongs to a friend of mine. She's grown into a beautiful and sweet young lady! X

These pups are now just over 2 years old. We have Reggie who is adorable full of fun and very fast. We are so lucky to have him. who ever it was who gave Bambi a home to have her puppies thank you. How are his litter mates?

It's incredible how quickly those two years have gone - can't quite believe it!
'The Birth' happened at my place very early one Sunday morning.......it was a baptism of fire but an incredible privilege to be there......and Bambi - despite being so young herself and recovering from an horrific injury - was an incredible mum right from the start.
My husband and I took it in turns to sit up with her and the puppies through the first few nights - just to reassure her. Then Susie and Rachel took over their care and Rachel raised them from babies to toddlers. I know it was hard work for both but I think messages like yours highlight what an incredible job they did.
I see Missy (was Julia) fairly regularly as she has made her home with a friend of mine. She's a beautiful girl - delicate in build but really independent in nature. Her fur, while largely dark, has a gorgeous caramel tinge to it.
I also have chance to say hello to Jess (was Siobhan) on the odd occasion. She is another beautiful girl and lives with a lovely family including a fabulous staffie who I believe also started life at CDH.
Liam - the only one who, so sadly, didn't make it from a litter of 10 - is buried in our garden, underneath a small palm tree. We always put flowers there on his birthday.
And what puts the BIGGEST smile on my face is that Bambi herself lives very near me, with a lovely friend of mine, her three great kids and a brilliant canine brother. She is probably the most famous dog in the town - everyone knows her - and she bombs around on her three legs as though she's been like that all her life. She has THE most incredible spirit and I consider myself hugely lucky to still see her regularly. I confess I fell in love with her from the moment I picked her up from the vets in Newport......and it's a love affair that's still ongoing!
Mind you, my friend tells me she can be a real princess at home, particularly if someone else wants to join her on the sofa she's lying on. She's perfected the 'put-upon pout' by all accounts!
I'd really love to hear how all the puppies are doing - Patrick, Declan, Joseph, Caitlin, Orla and Ursula - I know their names will have changed - I think Orla is now Bobbie and Joseph is Joey and I believe Caitlin found a new family in West Wales somewhere.
Any more updates would be brilliant and big thanks to Reggie's Mum & Dad for letting us know what a great boy he is - it's fab to hear!

How lovely to read that. Never a day goes past without me thinking how lucky we are to have a Bambi pup. He is my constant companion and knows when I am off to work sits in his basket with a look but when the wellies go on andwoolly hat out of the basket and he knows we are off for a run!
He loves his food and never lets me forget when its teatime. Tonight he has his Jack Russell friend for a sleep over!(daughter out for evening so Mum dog sitting)l hope they dont wake up too early.

Ursula (can't remember what her name is now) popped into Newport City Dogs Home the other weekend. She looked amazing! Such a happy sweet natured girl.
Believe she has recently found a new fur brother or sister from another local rescue.
And if I remember correctly Patrick lives in Essex. His Mum made a snuffle mat for my pup who was from the most recent litter that Rachel whelped.
