good morning everyone.
Until now I have been sitting back and just looking ... Wishing and wanting.
We took the plunge the other day to come in and look around and with a tear in my eye we fell for a few dogs. Missy the brown staffs crossbreed took my attention straight away and through the bars she enjoyed a good scratch. The son liked the jumpy JRT but being bitten by one many times when I was little has unfortunately put me off little dogs that are similar. Staffys are my main love or something with a staffs in it although I do like the little squashed faced dogs too such as bostons and frenchies but these are out of my price range and never show up in home. So back to missy... We walked her and she was amazing! My son Jack even loved her too. But we were informed she was not available to a family with children under 14 as she has attacked a small dog. Which as heartbreaking it was to hear I fully understand the reasons ( Jack my son is 5). But very hands on with animals.
When we look for a dog it needs to ideally get along with three dogs as I'm always around these three dogs. Roxie a chunky black pure staffs, Trav a beautiful staffs cross ( he's actually one of my best friends) and Bruno a happy yappy chappy. i walk at least 1 hour a day and this happens twice ( so will have min two hours a day) I can even put in more. We don't have the biggest of gardens but we do have big hearts and a small gap for a new rescue dog ( after looking into buying from a breeder I think a rescue dog or pup would benefit more and I don't like to feed the money into breeders with bad ethics also we get this in the bird world). Yes I forgot to mention we do have a parrot named Raph he is a crimson bellied conure. And we have a mixed aviary with cockatiels, lovebirds, plum headed parakeets and some parrotlets.
We are going to just be lurking around waiting for a dog who can fit us into her life.
Well it's afternoon now sorry I went on a bit!
Also so wanted to say a huge thank you to the wonderful lady ( I think was a dog walker!?) Who let us walk missy on Tuesday.
