Please welcome stunning Staffie X, Jenny Jenny was like a bottle of pop when she first come out for her photo's but soon settled well with the help of some treats and toys (and she loved both!!) "Sausage you say? Yes, yes, I can sit very nicely for some of the good stuff. Here, take my paw" How was that for you Jen? "Lip smacking good!" On to the toys then! What floats your boat girl? How about a squeaky ball?? Tick! Ragger?? Oh yes!! Jenny has been signed over to the Home due a change in her owners circumstances, so the staff do have some information on her. We are told that she has lived happily with other dogs, is used to being around young children but isnt a fan of cats. As with all of the dogs at CDH, if you are interested in adopting Jenny and you have children and/or dogs, you would still need to bring them along to meet her to ensure the chemistry is right between them. Good luck Jen! Jenny will be available for rehoming from 2nd February, but the staff at the home will take applications on her now. If you have any questions on Jenny or would like more information on her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click on the link below: Rehoming Process

This gorgeous Redhead goes by the name of Jenny and isn't she an absolute delight, she's always been after my attention when I'm having a wander around the kennels so I found time to take her out today! You do have to watch her because this cheeky lady decided that a ball sitting in an open van was now hers , she saw it before I did and by then it was too late! Concerned that she'd be too distracted by the ball to walk I did make a trade with her for one of my oh so delectable treats. Seeing the way she took it from the floor I must advise other walkers to not feed her treats by hand , just in case. Further on the walk this lady waited patiently for a couple to put leads on their dogs but I will have to admit , Jenny is not fond of other four legged friends but we solved that by jogging on past any oncoming dogs. She sure didn't mind the extra exercise and it took her attention off the dogs passing us by. Excuse the blurry action shot , but I wanted to share how gentle and easy Jenny can be on the lead. Overall she was a great walk , definitely kept me active. She listens quite well to what is being said to her and I think she just needs a bit of training and she'll be an amazing girl!

Oh what a sweet girl somehow I have not taken Jenny out for a walk yet, and she was a sweetheart today! She did come out all guns blaizing ( don't they all! ) and wanted to sniff everything! She had a big wee the moment we got walking so all good on the house training front. After the initial bolt down the lane, she walked right by my side, nudging or licking my hand every so often And when I bent down to have a chat and a cwtch with her, she put her head right into my lap, and then gave me a lovely staffie snog! Melted my heart as mentioned before, she is very vocal around other dogs, but a quick jog and saying 'come on Jenny' as a distraction she soon forgot about the other dog. A really lovely sweet girl who is full of love, will take you on a long walk on Friday if you have not found your forever home lovely girl xx

Had a lovely long walk with Jenny on Friday afternoon She is a lovely girl, she does come out pulling like a train but after 5 mins she settles down lovely and walks by my side with a slack lead She gives the heartmelt hand nudge as we are walking, and is very happy to give affection and amazing staffie snogs Such a sweet girl who is fast becoming a fave walk of mine And she decided sitting and waiting at the bench was no fun, she just had to climb on it! Lovely Jenny! She did bark or whine at other dogs but with a jog passed them at pace she is fine and forgets the other dog, and she LOVES a roll in the grass xxx

Jenny was my last walk on Saturday and what a gentle soul she is. She was keen to get going but really easy on her lead. We passed Tai & Alfie (I think) in the lane with no barking so she may be becoming more settled around other dogs after a good week or so of walks. We headed up Penarth Rd and Jenny discovered a 2m long stick which she decided was well within her capabilities to carry but luckily gave up after a minute or so! She responses well to gentle requests to sit, wait etc. and absolutely loves rolling around on grass verges. (photo on FB)

Roch is massive now, Clifford the big red dog comes to mind as he doesn't seem to be stopping growing. He is a softy with us all but also a great guard dog for the family when im on nights. Lots of loud barking if there is a disturbance. He still thinks he is small though and always wants to cuddle up to me on the sofa but there isn't much room for me anymore. We just think a little play mate for him would be good and we would love to give another dog their forever home.

I met Jenny today for the first time properly! There was some time spent in the garden with cameras so I'm just going to let you guess who is DOTW this week I was late to the party but she came over, said hello with a lovely lick to my hand, very much a "hello Charli we are having loads of fun here" and then got straight back to her game of fetch with Jo. She was so attentive to everything Jo did, waiting her patiently whilst she lined up the through, did great sits and then zoomed off to collect the toy AND bringing it back swiftly - she's got fetch nailed. - beautiful face too...! Just so fun
