Please give a warm Friends welcome to our two newest residents in Newport City Dogs Home
Staffie youngsters Suki....
And her partner in crime, Biscuit...
Well, when I say 'partner in crime' I don't mean in the literal sense. These gorgeous pups haven't done anything wrong, they are victims of a throw away society
They are guilty of being adorably gorgeous though!
We were aware that they were 'found straying' last weekend, and have only just been handed over to Newport City Dogs Home by a 3rd party, so they have had a confusing and difficult time recently. As their owner hasn't been in touch, we really don't know anything about them. We're guessing they are littermates, and probably around 5 - 6 months old.
The pups cannot be rehomed together. Although they play together, they can be very rough with each other, and whilst they are happy to share a kennel at the moment they do show typical sibling rivalry at times. They are separated at meal times to prevent sisterly spats, and would probably both benefit from having a steady, more mature dog as a role model.
Puppy prozac - you just can't help smiling when you're around a staffie pup!
Biscuit is blue brindle, and is by far the most vocal of the two! She seems a little more anxious than her bestie, but that's completely understandable as both girls have been passed from pillar to post over the last few days, and probably for most of their young lives.
Both girls are quite petite, which isn't obvious from their photo's.
Biscuit loves human attention, she simply craves cwtches and kisses!
Neither pups seem to have had much attention from humans in their first few months. They haven't shown us any indication that they have any basic commands. Although they are quite gentle taking treats they don't understand the concept of having to 'learn to earn', and they have very short attention spans.
Suki is a gorgeous fawny coloured staffie pup, and seems a lot more relaxed and chilled than Biscuit!
Suki was more than happy to pose for pictures. She is a stunning little pup!
"I'm gorgeous - and don't I know it"!
We're looking forward to getting to know Biscuit and Suki better over the coming days. Given what we know so far, we're not expecting them to be trained to walk on lead, but we have plenty of Pilgrims willing to help them learn!
Biscuit and Suki will be available for adoption from 10th May, and if you'd like to meet them please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information. TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays.
Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered and both girls will be taking a little trip to the vets for their 'big girls op' before they are rehomed.
