Hi All,
First, let me introduce myself. I'm Jon from Ollie's Brewery in Cardiff. I launched the brewery last year and is named after Ollie, my rescue dog who I found through yourselves several years ago. Due to this, 10% of all my profits go to Friends of the Dogs Wales.
Sadly, Ollie passed away peacefully in his sleep last week. I've had many kind words from you all and I'd just like to thank you all for these. Ollie had a great, but short life with us, and died at the young age of 7. Because of this, I want to honour him and his life and celebrate it as best I can - and hopefully change the world for other rescue dogs for the better through this community.
Therefore, on the 24th of June this year, I am creating 'Ollie's Day' and aiming to raise as much as possible.
So far the plans are:
And this is where I need your help! I have the venues, the date, a product and theme for the day, but I can't do it alone!
If you can assist in any way, have suggestions of extra events to run, can organise a raffle, bake/sell cakes, anything I'd love for you to get in touch! I'm just one person with keen friends and family, but I know with help I can make this a great day.
Ollie was a great dog and a fantastic soul, please help me raise some money, make a difference to the lives of other rescue dogs and honour him as best I can! :-)
I'll be on this forum, but if you want to contact me directly I'm olliesbrewery@gmail.com or 07896296259.
Thanks again,
Jon

Therefore, on the 24th of June this year, I am creating 'Ollie's Day' and aiming to raise as much as possible.
So far the plans are:
- I'm creating a one off beer for him named 'Every Dog has his Day'. This will be distributed for free and sold across Cardiff with 100% of the price of the beer going to Friends of the Dogs Wales - no one will be making a penny on this beer. Each venue will have a collection bucket as well for any 'extra' donations. Here is the FB event for this.
- Hopbunker have offered the space at the top of the 'bunker' to use for the day. This will be used for a meet and greet and bake sale. FB link here
- St Canna's are running a 'dog wash' on the day.
- I'm hoping to run a raffle and will be getting in touch with other breweries to see if they can offer a bottle pack to run, selling tickets on the run up to the day.
- I'll be ending the day with a 'Pup Crawl' to visit each of the venues that are supporting the event. This can either be with or without dogs (each venue is dog friendly) and will be a nice way of thanking them for their help. On the way would be a great opportunity to try and get a few extra donations.
- There's talk of a sponsored dog walk in Roath Park. If anyone has run one of these I'd love for someone to organise this if possible!
