Ooooooh, gotta love a shaggy lurcher pupster Please welcome Scamp This adorable pupster was taken in from a neighbouring local authority pound, and he's looking for a five star new home. Scamp really is super friendly, polite, funny, and he has already wormed him way into the hearts of the volunteers at Newport City Dogs Home Even though he's just a youngster, he's very gentle taking treats... Scamp has met most of the residents, and he's definitely the most popular boy in his class! Scamp has regular playdates in the garden. Pointies don't need hour upon hour of walkies, but they do like their zoomies! He challenged oldie Bas to a race, and even offered him a head start Go on Bas! *nudge* RUN!!!! And they're off! But those legs soon got Scamp into pole position! Enough of the olympic games, let's just have some FUN!!! Scamp takes the bends like an F1 driver!!!!! Yeah, we *think* he was holding back a bit Scamp has been an absolute delight to have around, and if you like pointies you are going to LOVE this boy! If you'd like to meet Scamp please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME for more information. TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered, and subsidised vouchers are available for £35.

What a beautiful boy! I have such a soft spot for shaggy coat lurchers! How does Mr Scamp find youngsters and Cats? I adore pointies but they tend to like Cats a little too much and my feline friend is very friendly. I also have a 4 year old wee lad who is growing to be as much of a softy for dogs as myself we are just waiting to meet someone who clicks. Is Mr Scamp house trained or needing help with learning the rules of toilet time?. I hope Scamp isnt waiting for a cuddly couch too long!

Hello Aloha, Scamp is not at all bothered or interested in cats. He's met both the cats who live at Newport City Dogs Home and hasn't shown any interest. He's been very gentle and respectful around the children he has met although he will need some guidance with refining his house training. He's got a bit lax with having been in kennels for so long but he's a clever boy and I'm sure he'll soon catch on. If you'd like to meet him, do pop down to Newport City Dogs Home. ☺️ What a beautiful boy! I have such a soft spot for shaggy coat lurchers! How does Mr Scamp find youngsters and Cats? Thanks for such a quick response 🙂 Hes just such a sweet gentle looking chap! Im certainly going to be mentioning him to my partner and see if we can come say hi to Scamp. We have a nice big plain garden I can imagine Scamp would enjoy darting around and a massive comfy sofa for cuddles and snoozes. Our cat is a sweet heart and incredibly tolerant and friendly once shes got to know someone. Well Mr Scamp watch this space 😄

We took Scamp for an, almost, two hour walk, at the Newport Wetlands RSPB reserve, on Thursday, together with four other dogs. He travelled really well, in the car, and was an absolute delight, throughout. Whoever gets this boy will be very lucky.

Hi, Scamp is still at the home and, although he has received some applications, I don't think that any decisions have yet been made about his future. I suggest that you phone the kennels tomorrow, to check on the situation.

Scamp has transitioned in Gelert, such a prince he is, and is responding instantly to his name. He has ploughed up the garden, learned how to do stairs, realised that beds and sofas are ace, and delights in stealing the slippers from our feet. He's absolutely lovely, and we can't wait for the moment when he can let rip on the beach. His legs are a source of great amusement, especially when lying on his back with all four in the air. He yearns for the cat's approval, and it's fair to say he's close to getting it. Thanks for bringing us all such joy. 😍
