Shhhhhhh *tiptoes in quietly* Please whisper a verrrry gentle welcome to Tinsel Tinsel had literally just arrived when we met her. She was very timid and anxious, so we didn't want to frighten her by pointing a camera in her face, we just stood back, put the zoom on max, and stole a few pictures while she was waiting to go into her kennel. Tinsel is quite underweight, and has very sore skin at the moment, but we are hoping regular meals and the meds she is on will help her feel a whole lot better quite quickly. Even though Tinsel was clearly hungry, she didn't really want to take food from our fingers, and preferred to forage in the grass. It's highly likely Tinsel has had to find her own food for most of her life. We're hoping that a few days of soft hands and kind voices will work their magic, and hopefully next time we see Tinsel her tail won't be tucked quite so tightly under her tummy If Tinsel's owners don't come forward to claim her she will be available for rehoming from 19 December, but the staff will take applications on her immediately. If you'd like to meet her please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered, and subsidised vouchers are available for £35.

Hi Nigel, The forum is run by volunteers rather than the home itself so if you give the home a call on 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays they can answer any questions you may have.
