Kara has been shopping The Blankie Appeal which went out on Friends Facebook and which was highlighted by Kara's Auction, a mention in Cardiff City's Match Program, and by everyone who shared the appeal, had a terrific response CDH has a goodly supply of thick warm bedding for the dogs, but they needed something a little extra, especially through the cold nights, so from the proceeds of her auction, Kara has bought ..... A mahoosive roll of Polar Vet Bed to line the beds Ancol Thermal Fleece Coats: The Ancol Polar Fleece Dog Coat offers great thermal protection on those bitterly cold days. You may remember that Libby and Cath ran the 2012 Cardiff Half Marathon in aid of Friends ;D They raised a fantastic £304 - and we want to share with you how their donation has helped the dogs... £25.00 went straight into the Kennel Fund After the recent deep clean at CDH, a lot of leads, collars, beds, etc had to be destroyed as they could not be adequately disinfected, so at the request of CDH and with Libby's agreement, some of the Marathon Money was spent on..... 6 large dog beds 15 Ancol slip leadsWe collected up all the Kongs when we helped with the cleaning for 'Inspect and Disinfect', and it's obvious the dogs have really enjoyed their Kongs! Most of them need replacing now, and it's very apparent that the Extreme Kongs, although a bit more expensive, have a much longer 'lifespan' than the classic red Kongs, so we bought a few to replenish our dwindling stock. Kongs form a really important part of our Kennel Enrichment Program. 3 Extreme Kongs, X Large 1 Extreme Kong, LargeThe staff speficially asked us whether we could provide the dogs with chews that would keep them occupied whilst they are confined to their kennels. These are perfect, and helped reduce the dogs' anxiety during this really horrible period. 2 boxes (of 20) tripe filled bones 1 broken box of venison filled hoofs 1 box of 10 extra large hide bones 2 boxes of 10 medium hide bones 1 box of of 10 small hide bones Libby & Cath's shopping spree amounted to £245.62 - and they have asked us to put the balance of the sponsorship money, £33.38, into the Sensory Garden Fund ;D Congratulations Cath & Libby, thank you so much for doing this our dogs. I know that every penny your sponsor money was hard earned!
