Please welcome the verrrrry handsome Lee Greyhound Lee only arrived at the Home a short while before we took these photo's. He is an ex-racing dog, and had quite a long road journey down to Cardiff this morning, along with his bestie Farley Gene in Kennel 28. Before we showed him to his kennel our walkers were lining up to meet the handsome newbies Lee is a very sensitive fella, he is shy and a little anxious, but he had a long walk before we took him to his kennel, and he made friends with our lovely volunteer walker in no time and seemed to get a lot of comfort from gentle hands and soft voices... He is an absolutely stunning and statuesque fella And although everything was a bit new and bewildering for him today, he seemed pretty un-ruffled by our 'other' riverbank residents Keep calm Lee - it's just a swan! Am I bothered? Naaaah, I'm retired now...... We rather think Lee will appreciate taking new friendships in tiny baby steps, as he is a little nervous of new people at the moment, but we're sure our fab walkers will help him overcome his shyness as he settles into his new routine. As Lee has been signed over he will be available for rehoming from 2nd Feb. Meantime he will be seeing our vets in the morning, having his first vaccinations and a general check up first thing Monday morning. If you'd like to meet him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. I took the very handsome and equally gentle Lee out for a lovely walk yesterday afternoon. I think he was still trying to get used to his new home, as he was quite anxious at first and also easily startled by traffic and joggers. Saying that, by the time we'd had a walk and a little sit and smooch by the river he was far more relaxed and even smiley with his lovely long face. I loved the way he snuggled into my legs all the way back. He is tall so I was able to rest one hand on him which I think he liked. I felt sorry for him when he went back into kennels as he didnt look like he wanted to go in. I am sure this beautiful boy will settle really quickly and in any case probably won't be waiting long for his forever home.

I took the lovely Lee out for a stroll a few days ago. He was unsure about leaving the security of CDH, but with gentle coaxing off we went. He walks very well on the lead and he seemed to enjoy our little chat, well me talking softly to him and Lee having to listen! As we walked along the lane we were lucky enough to spot some ducks and a heron and we stopped briefly to watch these. Lee had a sore paw so we were only out a short time before we headed back. Someone is going to be very lucky to have this boy.

Sorry Miggy, admin fail Lee has been returned to Cardiff Dogs Home as he really didn't like being an only child and became reluctant to go for walks without the company of another dog. The staff will be looking for a home with a friendly and confident pal for Lee.
