Hi everyone, I'm Sue and I live in Cardiff with my husband and our four gorgeous rescue dogs and rescued parrot.
We did have 2 more dogs but sadly we lost Tara, who came from CDH as an 8 week old pup, she was my Christmas present in 1998, suddenly at Easter 2010 aged 11 and Merlin our blind collie in September 2011 aged around 15, we are not sure as our vet thinks he may have been about 3 when we had him from a local sanctuary.
Of our furbabies now, Ben, our westie came from CDH, after being picked up as a stray, he is a loveable little boy, cheeky but gorgeous with it he will be 9 in Feb, we have had him for 8 years.
Rosie is our yorkie cross, she came from Newport Dogs home after being handed in as a stray, she will be 15 in August but noone has told her ;D as she still runs and plays like a young un, we have had her for nearly 14 years.
Tigs, is a little terrier cross, she came from All Creatures Great and Small, same as Merlin, she was a stray too, and was approx 10-12 weeks old when we had her, she will be 11 in March
Molly, is our sheltie cross, she was one of a litter born to a family friends pet, so I suppose you cant really class her as a rescue, we had her at 8 weeks old, she has been through a lot, with cancer and pyometra operations but she has come through all that and is one of the softest, gentlest dogs you could meet, she will be 13 in two weeks time.
We used to be quite well known at CDH when Alison was the manager as my husband ran AWOL lost and found pet site and we visited often as our number was passed out by the staff if someone lost their dog so that we could put the details on the site.
Looking forward to being part of this forum and also helping in any way that I can with the fundraising.
