Please welcome Roy Roy has been signed over to the Home due to a change of circumstances. He is in fabulous condition, his coat is shiny, his eyes are bright and he's in great shape Roy is only 16 months old, and is still very puppy-like! He is big and bouncy, has the attention span of a gnat, and doesn't have a great deal of impulse control, so he's looking for a home which can provide him with LOTS of exercise and he would definitely benefit from some basic training. We did manage to get a 'sit' in exchange for a WHOLE sausage roll Roy is good with kids, cats and dogs, but due to his 'exuberance' he would probably be best suited to a household with older, dog savvy children. Roy could bowl over a toddler and not even notice.... He was a little too bouncy for oldie boy Bas, but Roy met his match when we introduced him to pupsters Quinn and Sully... OMG! What IS that? HELP!!!!!! I'm being chased by an Ewok!!!! Keep calm Roy, it's just a puppy! Polite 'howdees' with Quinn If you'd like to meet Roy please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. [img src="Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered, and subsidised vouchers are available for £35.

Hi there
I would be interested in meeting Roy. I was wondering how he is being left on his own. I work all day so was wondering if I need to get someone to pop in.
I also have two young cats so it's good to hear that he is good with cats.

He had quite a few visitors on the weekend. The contact number for Newport City Dogs Home is at the bottom of his thread. Give them a call to see if they are still taking applications on him. Good luck

You would need to put arrangements in place for someone to pop in at lunch time if you are considering adopting a dog. We wouldn't recommend any dog is left for more than 4 hours without a comfort break and a chance to stretch their legs. Some older, calmer dogs might cope with being left longer, but not a young a lively boy like Roy. x

I called and as expected he has already got 3 applications 😕 so I hope he goes to a good home. Will keep an eye though just in case 😊

My boyfriend and I took Roy for a walk on Saturday. He was very excited at first like all dogs are when they go for a walk but as soon as we started walking he walked very calmly on the lead and was walking right by my legs some of the time so he could have a tickle on the ears. He is an amazing dog, so soft and loving. He would need to go to home where he could have lots of walks as he loves being out and needs to burn off his excitable energy. He is very good with traffic and was not startled by bikes riding past. An adorable dog - whoever ends up with Roy is very lucky
