Please give a warm Friends welcome to the new kid on the block, Junior
I salute you with my sticky up ear!
Junior is only about 8 months old. Although we don't know a great deal about his past, we do know he hasn't had the start in life a puppy deserves. Junior was handed in by his owner, who had bought him 24 hours previous via gumtree. An impulse purchase. Obviously we don't know how many times he has changed hands in his young life, but we have promised him he will never appear on selling pages again. Shake on that Junior
Junior is absolutely stunning, and he has had some basic training. What he doesn't already know he picks up in nanoseconds. Junior is a verrrrry clever boy, super-responsive to human touch and voices, and he laps up affection and cuddles, he simply loves to be loved.
It didn't take young volunteer Issy very long to find Junior's sweet spot
Ooooh, right there
He gives sweet kisses
And despite all the distractions in the garden today, if Junior could have stayed on Issy's lap all day long, he would have...
When we brought Junior out for his photo's today he had only just come back from seeing the vets for his 'big boy's op', so we didn't want to put him through his paces, but he could master the basics in his sleep!
Sit' and 'Down' are a piece of cake for Junior! Well, a piece of sausage maybe
Junior wants to put his rather shaky past behind him, and he is looking for a collie experienced home which can give him all the love, affection and attention that he has lacked. Junior would love to try out for agility, flyball, or scent work, and the staff will give preference to a household that is able to offer him the opportunities to excel at activities that will keep Junior busy and entertained. It's unlikely that Junior will thrive in a low-activity household, as he has an Einstein intelligence and loads of energy.
If you can offer Junior the home he deserves please contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays.
Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment and neutering.
