Please whisper a very gentle welcome to Lexi
Lexi was found straying by a member of the public a few weeks ago. She was completely emaciated and had a catastrophic injury to her tail which needed immediate amputation.
Lexi spend a week at the vets being nursed back to health and recovering from her surgery, and then a further week in the tender care of one of our most trusted volunteers so she could continue to gain strength in a comfy home environment.
Although Lexi is still a little underweight, she is a now a different girl and is ready to meet her public!
Lexi is extremely grateful for even the smallest kindness. She asks for very little, just lying in the sun, and tucking into a stuffed hoof, Lexi's looked as if she thought her world was complete
Lexi has met loads of her kennel buddies and visiting dogs, and is very happy and relaxed in their company
If you'd like to meet this gorgeous girl pop up to Newport City Dogs Home! TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays.
Saluki's are a rather breed, and the staff will give preference to applicants who have, or who have previously owned a saluki. If you are considering one of these beautiiful pointies for the first time, it's definitely worth doing a bit of research to read up on the breed. They are quite low maintenance but they are happiest when they have a short daily opportunity to stretch their legs for crazy zoomies, and recalling them back to lead can be verrrrry challenging!
Lexi's tail is now healing nicely, and with a few more weeks of tlc she's going to look like a million dollars!
Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment and neutering.
