Hello there pretty lady Tootsie arrived as a stray recently. She is microchipped to a mass breeder, and we're pretty sure she has never known what it means to be a much loved pet. Tootsie is 8 years old and she is currently staying with one of our volunteers on respite, to familiarise her with 'normal' smells, sights and sounds and a loving environment. Tiny baby steps for Tootsie at the moment. We're looking forward to updates from Tootsie's foster mum! If you'd like to meet Tootsie please contact the staff at the home first TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. As Tootsie is staying with her foster mum over the next week or so meetings with Tootsie will be by appointment only. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment and neutering.

This lovely little girl is doing really well in foster. The dull-eyed little animal who just wanted to lay in her bed has quickly been replaced by an inquisitive, active little dog, taking a keen interest in everything around her. Tootsie has impeccable manners with my two dogs, and has decided that my grumpy collie is her best friend, choosing to lay beside her whenever she can. She takes no interest, at all, in my chickens and would be a good prospect to live with cats and small furries. She has probably never lived as a pet and is being carefully introduced to the sights and sounds of the house, as well as the concept of house-training, though is proving a good pupil. Tootsie has a lot of love to give, to the right family. It will take time and patience, as well as love, to build her confidence and allow her to trust fully, but it will also be an immensely rewarding experience for her adopter. I have owned three small dogs, and they lived very long lives (15.5 - 16.5 years), so, hopefully, there is still a bright future ahead for Tootsie. She deserves it.
