We don't do 'buy one get one free' but Daisy and Toby are firm friends and the staff at Newport City Dogs Home will welcome applications from those looking for an instant doggy family as well as applicants who just want to add four paws not eight to their family!

8 year old fun loving Daisy and Toby her two year old bestie arrived recently as signovers due to a change of circumstances, and they have already stolen our hearts!
They are kennelled together for company, but they also enjoy their solo walks, and as they have very different personalities they are fond of each other but not overly bonded. The staff consider very carefully whether a pair can or should be split. It's almost always a good idea to split siblings, and if one or either of the dogs are senior with sight or hearing issues resulting in a physical dependence we would always prefer to rehome as a pair. All the dogs in the care of Newport City Dogs Home undergo thorough assessments as far as this is possible to do in a kennel environment, and the decision to give Toby and Daisy their own individual opportunities to find a perfect forever home has been arrived at after very careful consideration.
Daisy is super-friendly and confident! She has settled in brilliantly well, and was keen to make as many new friends today as possible! She can be a little 'bossy' and is super-confident of her own abilities to make friends and influence people! She has assumed the role of Toby's 'protector' and she is more vigilant and a little less relaxed sometimes when she thinks she is on 'mothering' duties.

Toby is a terrier/chi mix, and is stunningly handsome! He is less confident than Daisy, but is very sweet and friendly with humans and other dogs, especially when he doesn't have to compete with Daisy for first dibs on fuss and attention.

The two love their walkies, and like all sensible dogs they make sure they take plenty of water with them during the warm weather.

Daisy could happily live as an only dog, or in the company of a confident resident fur-friend

Toby would definitely benefit from living with a calm friendly dog, and the staff will give preference to applicants who already have a dog in the household. He is only 3 years old and he needs to learn to 'be more dog'

For more info, or if you'd like to meet Daisy, or Toby (or Daisy AND Toby) please contact the staff at Newport City Dogs Home on 01633 290902, or pop in for a visit! No appointment needed.
