Just red through the posts and just thought id pop along add my bit It was my idea to try a new system out with the walkers and dogs.. we Know some of regulars like to walk certain dogs and have built a bond with them which is great, we also like the fact that new dog walkers join everyday...some with children We have a wide range of walkers which is great for the dogs as they meet new people all the time. I know that some people felt as if we were not giving them a choice but we would not expect any walker to walk a dog they did not feel confident with and we would not give any one with children a dog that we did not think would be compatable to walk with them. The system was only a day trail and it will not be used again as we want all the walkers to be happy and enjoy the walk. There is a new sheet that has been made up by friends of and worked well today so we will see how that goes Fingers crossed...and see some of you tomorrow for more walking i Hope its a nice dry day again.

Can I make a suggestion ( might be a daft one) but How about some 'where to walk' laminated sheets for new walkers who don't know the area. I have three pooches at home to walk but when I do have chance if I knew there would be this info I would find a bit of sparetime to take a pooch out.
Just a thought....

Bex Peeps, can we have a cheer for the staff at CDH - who look after the dogs soooooooo brilliantly Right enough, it was *a little bit* busy at CDH today and Bex, you and the boys do an amazing job! I know you didn't get a chance to stop for a bite to eat all day ... ... for being so patient with da walkers And in return.... We PROMISE TO PICK UP OUR DOGGY DOO'S Quite a few people commented today that the lane was a little bit, er, 'littered' We wondered whether regular Friends walkers could carry a few extra poop bags, and if you see someone 'looking away' from their dog's doo-doo's, offer a gentle reminder that responsible pet ownership, and pet *it's-not-my-dog-but-I'm-responsible-for-him/her-whilst-I'm-walkingship* means you need to clean up after your dog has 'done the biz'. Also, if you are a regular walker, it would help the staff enormously if you could bring your own slip lead. 'Decorating' it with your own name tag is totally allowed (encouraged) ;D

This is a lovely idea, but way beyond my DTP skills The two walks that I know are.... ...onto the main road, down to the pump house, and then cross the road and go down along the river to Leckwith. You can cross the main road at the Leckwith roundabout, and continue all the way down to Lansdown fields if you want a proper yomp ;D ... onto the main road, past the pump house down to the public footpath on the right, along the river, and you can either take the left fork (which brings you out by IKEA) or carry straight on, you'll eventually end up on the Bay.... So in a way, that's 3 walks ;D Do we have any cartographers Is that the word
