Well Millie has been part of the family for a week now and seems to be settling in just fine. As of yet her and Morgan haven't figured out how to play together but are happy to play alongside each other. Millie is getting to grips with how to play with her kong to get the treat out by watching Morgan and copying how he does it. Although Morgan is having to learn to be a little quicker as if he puts a toy or rawhide down Millie is in there like a shot and it disappears before he even realises what is happening. They've had a couple of mini spats when Morgan has tried to tell her who's boss but Millie isn't having any of it and they are getting to grips with each others boundaries. Toilet wise, she has been doing well. Although need to hire a rug doctor following surprise squits on the living room carpet on day 3 (it seemed to shock her as much as us). But other than that she goes outside and is getting into the routine of when to go. Millie has been taking her naps in her crate and sleeps in there overnight without fuss. When she isn't napping in there she loves her cwtches and will literally burrow in to be as close as possible. As she is getting used to her new home now we are going to start her training, going to start with whistle training which i'm sure she will pick up quickly as she's a bright girl and really eager to please (and there will be food involved!). There are still a few things to work on but all in all she is a great little lady and a very welcome addition to the household. I promise i will get some photo's on here soon xxx

Can i recomend an agility course, My springer loved agility last summer, it helps with the clever head and endless energy! or just 1-2-1 agility lessons as agility courses in south wales are like gold dust and there's often a long waiting list I just do fun agility with my dogs when I can - Cwm Farm is a good one and not too expensive for 30 min

Any agility details would be much appreciated, also flyball as Millie is crazy quick and tennis ball motivated! The nearest ones I can find seem to be Caerphilly which is do able but not sure what they are like so a recommendation would be awesome. Millie has her own facebook page as Millie James where there is an ever growing album of photos xx

hi, i take my 8mth collie to rockwood dog training centre in caerphilly (i live in cathays, and only takes 10-15mins to drive!) which is amazing. They have different levels of agility classes there, i believe you need to have basic commands (sit/stay/wait etc) inplace then you can join. the website is below. enjoy! www.rockwood-dog-training.com/kate

also you can do 1-2-1 agility with an instructor quite cheaply just up the road from Rockwood dog training at Cwm Farm (turning off Blackbrook Road) - I do them when I can as part of fun agility for my dogs.
This way you don't need to book a series of lessions just as and when you want to. I usually do them with Emma but have used Rosie on one occasion at the same location.
If a few of you want to do it you can also sometimes book a group session (fees very reasonable).
I can give you their number if you want

I couldn't help spotting this mention of agility training on here. If anyone is interested in booking a small group for agility, I'd be interested in bringing Patch along. I've always felt he'd thrive on this but could never make any of the evening class times when I looked into it a couple of years ago, and the one to one was so expensive!. I haven't checked more recently mind, but would be up for going as a group if anyone else was interested? Jo

Pennyb, a number would be great thanks. Gingershambles, that could be an option to look into. I'll start doing a little research into this x

Aw bless her, I really had no idea her size until I saw her next to mine. She has a finer bone structure somehow ( maybe a bit of working cocker spaniel in her?) she is totally gorgeous and glad she's found a happy home! I get a bit of 'survivors' guilt when I look at my jake who is such a well behaved pooch, and think of all the strays in cdh home I could have picked instead of him who have had it much tougher. But springers like collies need owners with a certain tolerance to the energy levels and the happy but clumsy enthusiasm!
