Barclays give their employees two Volunteer days a year, to help a charitable organisation of their choice. And 19 of them (at the last count) want to support Friends - how fab is that So, we've split them into groups, and will be having relay walkathons to and from our Meet & Greet points. It has all been planned with military precision ;D but I am worried that some of the walkers might just keep on walking - all the way home! We are bringing out some beautiful doglets The Meets'n'Greets:Barclays Team 1 - 9th November, Morrisons, Barclays Team 2 - 16th November, IKEA, Barclays Team 3 - 23rd November, PaH I've had a fabulous time over these past three weeks and I and all the 'Friends' want to say a very special to Helen, for organising things at Team Barclays, and everyone who took part. You were all amazing Susie x and all the Friends of Cardiff Dogs' Home And a special Thank you from all the Dogs who all loved their days out

Meet'n'Greet - Barclays Team 1 - 9th November, Morrisons, Fabulous day today ;D A massive to the good folk at Barclays! Cherie, Rhodri, Howie, Richard, Chris and David, were absolute troupers, and totally embraced the business of the day, from the minute they walked into the Home, until the last dog was returned at the end of the day. It was wet, windy, and a little bit wild, but there was no stopping them! Seven lovely doglets had the time of their life today, and (without really noticing) we raised enough money to pay for our Public Liability Insurance for the year, with a little bit left over for our piggy bank ;D And we're off! Lily and Poppy came out in the morning.... ... along with Chuckles, who lived up to her name, and laughed all morning! And in the afternoon, we had the lovely Roxy... Gypsy... Jake... and Nero And seasoned M&G'ers, Bern & Bas, came along to chat with the very generous customers who stopped to say 'hello' ;D It was a long day, but everyone was still smiling, if a little damp, at the close of business Team Barclays - thank you so much - you were magnificent

What a fantastic day and what fantastic photos ;D Thank you so much Barclays Team1 what you did today is invaluable in getting the dogs and the Home out in the public eye and arousing so much interest in both. (It's amazing how many people are totally unaware of the stray dog situation going on in their own neighbourhood) I'm sure a few dogs will find their own homes because of you.

Meet'n'Greet - Barclays Team 2 - 16th November, IKEA, Once again many thanks to the girls of Barclaycard who were our volunteers at IKEA today. In relays they brought Simba, Poppy and Lily, then on the next run we had Donny and Malibu. Besides walking the dogs they did a great job of engaging IKEA shoppers. Big thanks to Sharron ( Additions ) and son Ian who did a great job manning the stall. It was nice to meet you both today. If you have any photos Sharron could you post them up? An enjoyable part of these M&G's is meeting up with other forum members, putting faces to names, getting to know everyone puts the FUN word into the effort. Thanks for calling in Lynne ,my little stalker ;D, really nice to see you today.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I'm smiling ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thank you sooooo much Team Barclays #2 for your enduring patience, your willingness to 'go with the flow', for making me laugh (you know who you are) and for bringing thoughtful and lovely presents to our doglets (you know who your are) and for getting so 'stuck in ' and engaged, that you probably had a much longer working day that normal (you know who you are - you were all amazing) ;D Baglady was there at the beginning, and there at the end, but I'm hugley indebted and missively grateful to Bern and Sharron, and the lovely Ian, for turning out for the bit in the middle (er, practically all day), sorry I was gone for longer than I anticipated And to our unexpected (but much appreciated) 'stalker' gustysmum. I took my camera - but, don't be cross, I didn't get it out, (much) so I am praying that there is pictorial evidence of todays outing from Team Barclays. The verbal 'debrief' we had at the end of the day will be invaluable in terms of helping our dogs find the right homes. You were all model 'aunties'. It's amazing how well you got to know our dogs, and understand their little foibles, their likes, their dislikes, their preferences, and after just one day, we had a bountiful pool of information that we can use to make sure the dogs are rehomed to the most appropriate homes. Helen, I am running out of superlatives, I can't thank you and your teams enough

Meet'n'Greet - Barclays Team 3 - 23rd November, PaH Aw, this was our last 'Day Out Wiv Da Dawgs' courtesy of the fabulous folk from Barclays. Teams Barclays have spent 3 weeks with us, bringing our dogs out to meet their public, engaging with shoppers, and have kick-started Friends' Meet & Greet program of events with such enthusiasm and charming good grace..... Team Barclays #3 had a very special duty to perform before Jacko let the dogs out.... With the money collected at Team 2's event, it was agreed that we should purchase some slip leads and present them to the Home. Maria, accepting Friends' first ever donation in kind to Cardiff Dogs Home. Peeps, I was proper choked! One day, with your support, hopefully it will be a shiney 'Key to the Kennels' that we'll be presenting to Cardiff Dogs Home. This is the first small step we've taken, and I'm so chuffed that I was there to see it ;D On with the business of the day... outside Pets at Home... Hello Team Barclays #3 rewrote the map several times walking back and forth to and from the Home to get as many doglets out as possible. I was a bit forgetful with my camera again (sorry) but We had Jake & Gypsy, Squidge and Roxy out in the morning, and these two lovelies popped along to join us... It was lovely to see seasoned ol' Meet & Greeters, Gutsy and Bas out helping too I know for a fact that there was some happy snapping of camera shuttings going on, I'll try to track down some more pics for you ;D We mustn't forget to thank Morrisons, IKEA and Pets at Home for being our kind hosts over the last 3 weeks, and their kindly customers who stopped to say 'Hello' to our dogs, and were extremely generous in donations, in cash and especially at Pets at Home, in kind. We had a lovely lot of treats and toys donated, which for the dogs, is the sort of currency that they really enjoy I've had a fabulous time over these past three weeks and want to say a very special to Helen, for organising things at Team Barclays, and everyone who took part. You were all amazing Susie x
