Bambi owes so much to her amazing foster mum and dad, who took her in when she was so very very poorly. They nursed her back to health after her catastrophic injuries, and helped her keep her babies safe (albeit unknowingly) while they were growing inside her. Fran and Andy have stayed close to Bambi, who has now been renamed Niahm, since the day she came into our care, and helped us ensure she went to the best possible home. Sometimes a 'thank you' is sufficient, sometimes there are no words to express how much we owe our amazing Pilgrims. To Fran, Andy, and of course to Rachel, who looked after Bambi and her pups, ten darling creatures will be making their families complete for the next 12 - 15 years.... ....... and all because of you.

Susie, thank you so much for that lovely post - it really is appreciated.
However, without want to sound mealy-mouthed, we sort of feel it's us who should be saying thank you.....that you and CDH were happy to entrust Niamh (Bambi) to our care.
She is the most amazing dog, who has brought huge amounts of joy to us and our wider circle of family and friends in the time she has been with us. This dog, who was left for dead in the gutter before thankfully being picked up by Kathryn, has the most extraordinary zest for life. I took her out to the woods near where my brother lives a couple of days ago. She was with my two and my brother's dog and she had an absolute ball. She loves to run and explore and to play. She is very friendly with other dogs, albeit occasionally startling them, as her current 'party trick' is to jump over them!!
She is an extremely bright and sometimes stubborn dog - who isn't afraid to tell you what she wants. She cottons onto things very quickly and mastered asking to go out to toilet within a matter of days. She likes to 'talk' to you and loves stretching out on the sofa.....even if you're already sitting there!!
She is in a loving home where they are already besotted with her. The extra advantage is that I'm able to stay in contact with her and take her out from time to time.
Thank you to everybody who kept her and her beautiful puppies in their thoughts and prayers - and who contributed to their care. You've done a really REALLY good thing.
Rachel and Susie - one word - Superstars!
I'll get some pictures of her in her new home and send them over.
And for those wondering about her new name. it's Irish and means 'Brightness' or 'Radiance'. It's pronounced 'Neave'.
