Please welcome Jack This tiny little fella is still finding his paws at the Home, but he's settling in slowly, and seems to be learning the ropes.... "What does a guy have to do to get a treat around here eh"?Jack is as fit as a fiddle, a lively, agile little dog! er, no Jack, not like that!Atta boy! Nice sit Jack! That's gotta be worth a tasty bit of the good stuff! Jack is still a little bewildered at his change of circumstances, and prefers to take things slowly when meeting people for the first time. He hasn't been aged by the vets, but we don't think he's very old, he has sparkling white teeth, and despite his tiny stature, he seems to be in fabulous condition. Even little dogs need lots of exercise eh Jack? No slouching on a sofa watching Coronation Street for this little guy! Jack will be available for rehoming from 7th January, but the staff at the home will take applications now. If you would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click on the link below: friendsofcardiffdogs.proboards.com/thread/5880/guide-adoption-procedures

Had a lovely walk with Jack today. When I asked about him I was told he was a pocket rocket, and that Jack is, he doesn't stop and is a million miles and hour. Jack is so adorable, I managed a little cuddle but Jack soon wanted to carry on his way. Again we had no issues passing propel of dogs and even when an off the lead springer got really close, Jack didn't seem bothered one bit. I'm sure you won't be waiting long for your forever home Jack.

So I have been dog walking with CDH since Jan 2013- each time I have met so many dogs which I just wish I could take home. I recently saw older boy Ben and wished for him to join our family as kennels is no place for an older boy. After meeting him I soon realised that my crazy active JRT would be overwhelming and very active compared to him. I decided to walk a few others that day as I was already down there after meeting Ben. Jack was one of my walks that day.... Well it didn't take long but I fell in love. We had a great walk with loads of cwtches and when he had to go back into his kennel he would not budge. He had to be dragged back and it broke my heart. So I accidentally made an application! That was three days ago and today he has woke up in his new home (our home)!! He LOVES his new big sister even though she is slightly more crazy and somehow has way more energy than him despite him being 2 and her being 9....!! He has not stopped cuddling me and my partner or playing with his sister. He's not been here 24 hours and he has settled in SO well. I can 100% confirm he will never walk back through the doors of CDH without an owner. No matter what issues we face, he is for keeps, he is loved and always will be. As all know, sometimes rescues have a few more things to be worked on than other dogs in more fortunate situations. Well, whatever this boy has problems with, I can promise I will give him the patience, training and socialisation he deserves. Thank you CDH for being so helpful with introductions etc! Lots of love from Soph & Jinx (big sis) & ELVIS! Formerly known as Jack- renamed in honour of his fresh start xxxx

Elvis (formerly Jack) was introduced to his 3 cousins today, ash, benji & Charlie his new playmates and it couldn't have been a smother intro if we tried. He got on so well with them, ash kept licking him, benji thought wow someone new to play with and charlie kind of ignored but in a good way hes always the hardest to win over lol. Welcome to your new extended family Elvis x

Just an update, year and a half later, Elvis is doing amazing! We love him SOO much and he has made our lives so much happier. He still loves walks with his big sister and my mum's dogs. We go everywhere with him, he has even gone to Leeds with us twice! Can never thank CDH enough for gifting me with a best friend like Elvis! Suppose I can pay you all back by continuing to volunteer and walk the other doggies that need homes <3
