I think it's safe to say Thomas has settled in and found his feet, he's such a happy dog, greets us all like long lost friends. He still has his cheeky side, which is a pleasure to see. I ask him to go to bed when there's food around, and this is what he did today - think he's comfortable here

Booster and check-up day for Thomas, and he passed with flying colours His weight was described as ideal, and the vet suggested we drop his food allowance a little so he doesn't gain any more. Not needed: Mr Vet didn't know Thom has been on reduced rations suitable for his needs for the last fortnight and is doing just fine Thomas was an absolute gentleman whilst being examined. He wasn't keen on having his temperature taken but hey, I doubt I'd be either, and I think I'd do more than just sit down in protest He's a good lad

Why on earth is this leggy lovely still waiting for a home?? I have walked Thomas a few times and he never fails to make me smile. He is an easy dog to walk, generally walking alongside you on a slack lead (unless he spots another dog and then he gets very playful!) and isnt bothered by anything. He is very affectionate and enjoys a nice fuss. I saw him in the car park yesterday as I arrived and he was waiting to go back in the kennels after a walk, he recognised me and made such a lovely fuss of me He really is a very special boy with so much to give. Okay, he doesnt want to live with cats, but hey, neither do I (they are the pets people have until they can get a dog eh Baglady !) If you have a cat free home, a little space on your sofa (have you seen how small lurchers are once curled up??) and a lot of love to give and get back, I urge you to come and meet Thomas! He is a cracking boy x WHAT A MEAN VICIOUS COMMENT TO MAKE ABOUT CATS AND THEIR OWNERS THAT LOVE THEM!!!

It wasn't a rude or vicious comment, it was just there so Thomas could get his home

Not everyone likes brussell sprouts, personally I don't like piccalilli, that doesn't make me mean and vicious, and I completely respect other people who do like them We really try to keep this forum a family friendly place, we don't shout and we don't disrespect each other. If you are troubled by something that you feel is offensive please pm admin.

It wasn't a rude or vicious comment, it was just there so Thomas could get his home Well said It's all about the most suitable home for each dog, one which meets their specific needs and is most likely to work for them long-term. It's true that the best chance the dogs have is with the knowledge and observations of those who have cared for and worked with them passed on unconditionally. Honestly, Rescue is difficult enough for those involved as it is; I really don't see a little light-hearted banter whilst promoting any dog as a cause for concern or offence. I like cats: my brother has one, as does my neighbour and numerous friends. The dogs I have aren't, for the most part, compatible with cats, so I doubt I'll ever share my home with one. I quite like piccalilli too, Sorry Baglady if you find that to be out of your comfort zone Oops, Thom killed a chicken today. Flap Free Little One, may your squeaker soon be restored

Hi, haven't heard from Thomas in a long time. Is he doing ok? Our family has found a new pet, he is a cat and he is called Bobby. Hope you're all doing well.

Hello! I'm so sorry I haven't responded before now, my computer went to the big tech scrapyard in the sky...taking most of my log-in details for various forums with it, so I didn't even realise you had posted. Don't worry, Thomas is doing well - thank you for asking. I've been teaching him a few bits and pieces to help with manners around food; it's so funny when he tries to do a "touch" and "shake" at the same time; he tries his best Cutehamster, glad to see you have a new friend - any pics of Bobby? I have some time off work soon so I'll get some new pics of Thomas for you, then I just have to work out how to post them on here now that Photobucket doesn't work anymore. Wish me luck
