What a beautiful, affectionate and gentle girl. I was lucky enough to take this gorgeous girl out today and enjoyed every minute of our walk. Nala really is a pleasure to spend time with - she walks at a gentle pace, and is happy to stop for cuddles as often as you like! This lovely lady is going to make an amazing best friend for the right person and I hope she doesn't have to wait too long as she more than deserves to be happy on her forever sofa xx

Oh Nahla, why are you still waiting sweetheart? How come no-one sees what an affectionate, loving girl you are?
We simply cannot understand why Nahla is so overlooked, she is getting so very stressed in kennels. Nahla can be a little vocal when she sees other dogs, but she is just telling us that she desperate for company and companionship...
Nahla had a fabulous day today, we took her for had a walk with Bingo, and they clearly wanted to get to know each other better... so it was away to the garden!

While Bingo seemed a natural in front of the video camera, there were one or two 'out-takes' courtesy the very very affectionate Nahla!

Oh, Nala Each time I see your name still on the walkers list, my heart breaks a little more. I really don't know how she hasn't been snapped up months ago, because if our situation were suitable for her, I'm pretty sure we'd have tried to bring her home with us! This gorgeous lady is really not coping well in the kennels, but that doesn't stop her from giving everyone so much love and affection. She's so eager to leave the kennels and be outside that she jumps up a lot initially, especially with the staff (as she's more comfortable with them), but within minutes she's calm and sedate and walks wonderfully on the lead. Passing dogs will get a bit of a talking to but, as we've all seen in the videos or in person, Nala adores other dogs. She's just got a lot of pent up excitement and frustration, and she's not quite sure how to express it all. After a little 'chat' with another dog, who was very eager to 'chat' back, Nala did get herself a little worked up and tried to jump up a few times to say hello to us, but with the 'paws' technique and a little calming, she was much more relaxed. Not every dog we met got the same treatment, however, as two smaller dogs (including Bingo) just got a lot of interest but no barking, and a bigger dog who didn't bark at her first got only a little whine before she let us move her along. Once she's out of the kennel environment, Nala will be so much more relaxed and less vocal around dogs, but she just needs to get out of there first We took Nala on a different route than usual, one we'd actually planned on taking Thelma to before she found her forever sofa, in an effort to give her a little break away from anything that might over-excite or frustrate her. The estate across the road from the one where CDH is might not seem ideal for walkies, but it is actually very quiet and large, and even has quite a few grassy places to walk or, in Nala's case, roll on. We even encountered a few squirrels, who Nala was very interested in getting closer to - the squirrels were well away by that point! We stopped for water and a few treats and, because Nala wouldn't have it any other way, a lovely cwtch. Every now and then as we walked she'd turn back and just slow down a little, waiting for a reassuring pat or quick cuddle, before happily moving onwards. She really is so incredibly affectionate and really thrives on contact with people. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that her forever family find her soon, so poor little Nala can start living life as she's meant to - cwtched up on a comfy sofa with the lucky people she'll give such endless love and joy to.

As I'm already a paid up member of the Nala fan club I'll cut straight to the chase or in this case the garden. As you may or may not know I've taken Nells on a few trips but never have I had the pleasure of some off lead garden time. What you might see sometimes is a bouncy sometimes vocal young girl. But all I seen today was a bright, intelligent, loving girl who chased brought back chased again kept her paws down and got heaps of love and praise and dished out the snogs as standard. We all love her but I just hope that someone sees what we do and could love her that little bit more, because with right home you are going to have one stunning, loving girl. I did ask if Bingo wanted to join in but he'd gone to the pub..I'm clearly doing something wrong!!! Everything crossed for you Nells I'll bring Elsie next time x

I don't think there's much that can be said about Nala(Nilar) that hasn't been already said a thousand times! Nala is such a beauty! She is really good on the lead, always checking that you're still there! Rob at the home warned us that Nala would come out with a muzzle on but as soon as we knew she was feeling comfortable, we could take it off her. I think it's very understandable that a dog that has been in her idea of hell for about 6 months is feeling slightly anxious. Having said that, she came out very calmly and just wanted to get the muzzle off, she made no noises and didn't seem unhappy at all. As soon as we got to the bottom of the lane, we took her muzzle off and Nala breathed a sigh of relief, a lovely thing to see! Nala was snappy with other dogs but I honestly don't think there was any aggression there - especially after having watched the videos of her and Bingo together! It's hard not to fuss this beautiful girl, she has such soft fur and such a beautiful face! I think it's a true testament to this beautiful girl that she is willing to trust so easily even after being in kennels for far too long. Nala has the talent of being able to make everyone fall in love with her in an instant (and I am head over heels). Nala was a great walk and I really enjoyed every second of it and I'm sure she did too. After walking Nala, I decided to have a look around the kennels and it was heartbreaking to see Nala in there, she looked so sad Nala just needs someone to reassure her that there is life after CDH and that there will always be someone there for her. Who doesn't want a dog who is loyal and absolutely besotted with their owner and best friend?

I think it's safe to say that Nilar has a special place in all of our hearts! It breaks my heart knowing she's been in kennels for so long, she just needs someone to love It's always lovely walking with Nilar because she does love a cuddle and a bit of a smooch! We had a nice long walk through, around and over grangemoor today. She seemed to perk up once we'd been walking for a while. We walked to the top, where the chain statue is, and Nilar wanted to climb right to the top and look all around. Then she put her paws on my lap and we sat for a bit. She is such an affectionate girl and she is such a pretty looking doggie as well, I really hope that special person/family comes along very soon

Hey everyone Nala here.... This is the real me I spent the afternoon at hotel du dogs this afternoon and this is what we got up too. I got in car and Pete said I was really well behaved. I believe this is called a selfie. When we got to hotel du dogs I had a little mooch got my bearings and decided it was time for this.... A nice sit down on the floor. But this was better... A nice snooze on the sofa bliss. I was very clean very polite around Elsie my older buddy (she's very nice to me). I know I'm a bit noisy at the home but I can get very stressed and excited when I'm out,but I hope these pictures show that I'm really a lovely quiet loving dog. Please don't let the impression you get of me in the kennel last because Pete will vouch for me I'm really a lovely girl. Lots of love Nala (or as Pete calls me Nello) xx

This beautiful girl never ceases to amaze me! Every time I walk her, I am in absolute awe of her and her beautifully soft fur! Nala/Nilar is such a wonderful dog, with a lovely, friendly personality and SO much love to give. Nilar does get quite snappy at the beginning of her walks but I've always noticed that as she calms into her walk, she gets less snappy. Nilar is very obedient, takes treats so gently and doesn't pull at all. I don't think there's much I can say that hasn't been said before. I really hope that 2017 is her year and that her forever sofa and family are just around the corner. xx

Nala what more can I say that hasn't already been said... I hadn't seen her for a few weeks but she greeted me like an old friend. She walks beautifully, she does bark at other dogs but I think it's just excitement in fact it weee definitely is as we passed an off the lead dog and they had a good old sniff and her manners were impeccable. She is so loving you could never love her as much as she would love you. Great around the house, clean and clever I could go on... In fact I will go on because someone will see this or the other write ups and will see how gorgeous she really is. Nala you're my gorgeous girl Christine and myself will give you some respite but I'm sure there is a lovely lucky home out there for you. Love you Nello xx

I Love getting to walk Nahla in the afternoon - it's quite a race to get to her first as she is a firm favourite with the regular afternoon walkers. Anyway, I was the lucky one yesterday and as always I thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent with this beautiful girl.
We went on our usual walk, including Nahla's favourite part - watching the squirrels eating at the feeding station, which absolutely mesmerises her!! Then back to CDH and into the garden for lots of play time and cuddles on the sofa - the best company and all the affection you could ask for, Nahla is such a special girl!!!
It's wonderful to see that Nahla has been getting regular, longer walks with Morning walker Ray. I don't think I have ever actually met you Ray, but I love to see your name in the walkers book next to Nahla's and thank you every day for giving her the time and attention she needs.
Let's keep spreading the word - the right family for Nahla is out there somewhere xxx

Yes - I love walking her and from a selfish point of view I get to keep fit as well. She has lots of admirers in Penarth and hopefully one of them will offer her the forever home she needs.
