Oh my giddy aunt - what a gorgeous girlie you are Kayla! Kayla is one of 5 dogs that have been taken into CDH from Caerphilly pound this week, as they were running desperately short of kennel spaces. We've always got room for a sweet pointy! Pointies really do make fabulous pets, and they are overlooked so often in favour of smaller breeds, but if you've never considered a pointy, it's worth knowing they can be very low maintenance, easy, affectionate, clever, polite, and utterly charming dogs to share your life with. They are sprinters, not marathon runners, and once they have had a blast to stretch their legs, many of them are quite happy to curl up like an ammonite, or stretch out, and watch the world pass them by. And, just to prove I'm not a liar, Kayla had about 5 minutes of zoomies in the garden.... Well, not so much zoomies, as a light canter. Try not to exert yourself there Kayla ... a little poke around in the summerhouse to see if there was anything 'interesting' in the cupboard.. Then she was more than happy to say sweet how-d'you-do's to Aunty Janet... Excitement over, Kayla posed prettily for her rehoming pics.... Ahhhh, that's the money shot Kayla! And she showed us an exemplary sit, in exchange for a few morsels of sausage of course! Kayla is available for rehoming immediately, so if you'd like to meet her or want more information please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Ohhhhh Kayla! You stole my heart on Saturday Took this lovely girl out, and we had not even got halfway down the lane and she had me like putty in her paws! She is just oh so gentle, and those eyes....well, they tell a story don't they? We stoped a little bit down the lane for some cuddles, she was happy to get in close to me for some soft words, then was happy to carry on with the walk. He tail was tucked under when she came out from kennels, she was worried, a bit unsure, but as soon as she felt she could trust me, the tail started to go upwards and a small little wagg appeared Kayla is so very good on the lead, she walks next to you with lots of slack, and is totaly non reactive to other dogs. Halfway down Penarth road, it was lovely to see Kayla relax enough to start rolling on the ground....until I realised she was rolling in what I think was a large fox poo! Yes she stank, the lead stank, I stank, but she was sooo happy after that it was like a different dog, it was worth getting stinky just to see her be happy and be a dog, and to not worry about life for just a few moments. Kayla is a sweetheart, she would be such a lovely girl to have around. How can you say no to those eye's?? The next few photo's are from the Fox poo moment! So they are just a blurry mess but you can see just how much fun she was having
